No, this is currently not possible, we have this open in our system currently, so I will add one more vote for it.
-
If that does not work, please open a support ticket

So the location is the SNMP location we pull from the device, so you can change it there or create a custom property and put whatever value you want in there. Let's have you walk the OID's we use to see if you get anything back. I will post those in the morning when in the office

With ESX4, VMWare changed the SNMP implementation that was used in ESX 3.5. As such, ESX4 monitoring will not work with NPM 9.1 or 9.5. We are working with VMWare and looking to add support in a future release for ESX4

Are you running Firefox or IE. You should be able to register an app handler for it based on the browser. Instructions for IE: msdn.microsoft.com/.../aa767914(VS.85).aspx Instructions for Firefox: kb.mozillazine.org/Register_protocol

Check out these couple threads, see here and here

I would recommend a support ticket to investigate further.

Does the node get powered off around the same time every day? It sounds like what would work better is the ability to schedule unmanaging the node on a recurring basis so you do not get alerts etc. when it goes down, which is an open enhancement request we currently have in the system. Right now you can only do it manually
-
Have you set the product syslog retention setting for 7 days? In the syslog viewer on the Orion server, if you go to File -> Setting you can set the retention setting there
-
I did confirm with dev that currently this is not possible and I added feedback to an existing enhancement with your info. It would still be good to get your feedback on my original questions though please.

I am chatting with the dev team to verify some details, but I wanted to respond back and get some clarity. * If no DameWare agent is installed on the box, you want the product to detect this and not even attempt to connect and install an agent? * If an older DameWare agent is installed on the box, do not prompt and do not…

It sounds like we are not able to communicate via SNMPv3 properly. Can you test and confirm you have SNMP properly configured on the device? If you want to poll other SNMP information other than what we poll out of the box, you can use the Universal Device Poller to poll any SNMP enabled value.
-
What error are you getting. Trial version should not have any limits on items added, just how long the trial runs
-
Can you provide some more info, what do you mean caption does not change?
-
Also please tell me more about your wireless devices. Are they controller/thin AP's or thick/autonomous APs? What vendor?
-
Are they showing up as Linux nodes or Unknown? If they show up as Linux and not showing CPU, the OID we are polling to get that is not returning anything, so it could be using a different OID. You can use the Universal Device Poller to poll the CPU for that node and add it to the Linux devices

Not today, we added Dynamic Service Groups into NPM in 10.1 and we are looking to incorporate this into EOC going forward.
-
For one reason or another a ping must have failed from the Orion server to the device. Hard to tell without more data.
-
Does that server have internet access? Can you manually register the license if not by using the customer portal steps
-
This is on the list to add to the web for a future release. However, this setting should also work for the in product updates. C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\SolarWinds.Orion.Core.BusinessLayer.dll.config <add key="proxyAvailable" value="false" /> <add key="userName" value="" /> <add key="password" value="" />…

What RC version are you running? If RC3 then no, if RC1 or RC2 then yes.
-
How is this exposed or how can you get this data?
-
Can you provide more detail please, not sure what you are asking about
-
This ships in the zip file when you download Kiwi Syslog, so it should be in there.
-
Regarding items 2 & 3, I beleive we have been working offline with you to troubleshoot this further. I will log 4 & 5 into our defect tracking system
-
Are you trying this in 9.5 or 10? We made some tweaks for Huawei monitoring in 10, but cannot guarantee it will work in 10. When you get to 10 can you add them and report back. If they don't work send me a PM, I would like to get some SNMP Walks from you for these devices.

Regarding # 1, please see following link for resolution - http://support.solarwinds.com/kbase/ProblemDetail.cfm?ID=1139

This is not possible today, I will add you to the enhancement request. You could try to pull data via API or dump to excel and see if you can build what you need there.
-
CollectIt actually is ConnectNow :) Regarding #1 we understanding this limitation. This is 1.0 of automated topology functionality in Orion. If we discovery multiple IP's for a single device within a discovery profile, we de-duplicate it. However, if the same device is in two different discovery profiles, then yes, we will…

OK I will get this filed in as a bug for us to look into
