I'm on 10.6 and running into this issue. I've opened case #525356
-
My pleasure, happy to help!

My support ticket is #83426, but I don't seem to be getting the help I'm looking for. Perhaps my expectations of the product are too high or I'm misinformed on how to configure what I want (probably the case)? Here's what I'm looking for: 1. Nightly change detection between running and startup configs. I'm not looking for…

I'm glad to hear that this issue is receiving some serious attention. Just to add my input, my main use of the "Running vs. Startup" pie chart is to detect day to day differences in running and startup configs. Just as pjb wrote, I'm interested in finding instances where someone forgot to commit their changes.

Thanks for clarifying. This is going to be a problem for me because my servers have Framework names that are not 100% unique. As in my previous example, I have "ServerName", "ServerNameNorthAmerica" and "ServerNameEMEA". I really need to be able to monitor just "ServerName" without matching the other two. I'll see about…

That seems like such an obvious use, but I don’t think you can do that. I think the best you could do is create your script, then create a job that you then run on demand. The job will let you specify the node you want to use. If you wanted to trigger the NCM script from an alert, then it would automatically know which…

You should be able to see an individual status for each disk. Here's an example: The one oddity is that I've never been able to get the alert to tell me the exact bay that's failed -- I just get an alert that says a hard drive has failed, and then I have to go look what bay it is. As for the values being numbers, if you go…

I want to report that I'm having a similar issue. I can't get the change report to run correctly and it ends up being 10MB+ in size.
-
Thanks Roger, Just to clarify, Will the filter match the whole word only, or will it match on part of the name? For example, if the filter = ServerName, will it match only "ServerName" or will it also match "ServerNameNorthAmerica" and "ServerNameEMEA" Thanks

In regards to the Linux/Unix monitors having multiple statistics per script, has this made it to a release version yet, and if so, is there documentation on how to utilize multiple statistics?
-
I just went through a similar situation and am happy to report that I now have a solution for this. First, download this package: This was uploaded by Mike Maher and was written by his company's DBA. All you have to do is edit his script to add the pollers you are interested in. I have mine set to pull all physical…

I think this is what I'm looking for -- just one clarification, if I add all of the interfaces and volumes to the ignore list, that doesn't automatically add the host too, right? And on a related note (which might be better served by a new thread) is it necessary to have NPM report back that a Windows 2008 R2 server has…

Not sure if you ever found what you want, but I believe this is the OID for the average CPU on the CSS: 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.368.1.34.17.1.14 HTH, Brandon

Here's an example: I can send more if you need more

Sounds good. Thanks for looking into the issue. Please let me know if you find a fix or release a patch of somekind. Thanks

On my servers that have both internal SCSI or SAS arrays, along with external SCSI or SAS arrays, I use the same OID that I sent over to you. You will usually see the HDs listed with a different number, depending on which controller they are on. For example, internal drives are 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc. And external drives…

Nice work guys -- this is the best release yet. The first thing I noticed was the responsiveness of the website. It's definitely leaps and bounds better than before. I also love the addition of the node management buttons on each node, as well as the ability to edit custom properties. Keep up the good work!

Is there any documentation out there for this? I can't find anything in the current docs
-
I'm trying this out but I've only been able to get it to work if I do a view limitation based on specific applications or specific nodes. I've also tried Individual Groups and Groups of Groups, where I've grouped the applications into sub groups, then wrapped them up into a single group, but those don't restrict it…

My apologies -- I must've added some over the years I've uploaded all of the pollers you'll need for this report here: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/docs/DOC-167483

I've been pretty disappointed with the amount of data I can poll on Meraki devices, but I don't believe it's an issue with NPM -- Meraki just doesn't expose much information. That said, when I configure NPM to poll the Meraki dashboard, I'm at least able to get a list of all Meraki AP's in my Org. The only info I can see,…

The best place to start is the documentation for both types of scripts: www.solarwinds.com/.../wwhelp.htm Network Configuration Manager Administration Guide > Working With Command Scripts Network Configuration Manager Administration Guide > Modifying Device Templates Device templates are more interactive in nature and can…

Couple of questions for you: 1. Were you able to validate your SNMP config locally using snmpwalk? 2. If you run a tcpdump on the server, are you seeing the SNMPv3 requests coming in from the Orion server with the correct username and msgFlags for authentication and encryption? 3. Do you use SELinux?

Just wanted to chime in here -- I am running NPM 10.5 and I still have the report writer.
-
I've tried this but I still receive the chart error. Just for clarification, when you say 'remove db' do you mean delete the Netflow tables from the database?
-
Also, I use these: http://thwack.solarwinds.com/docs/DOC-167483

I don't see why this won't work -- in fact, I'm doing it myself for my own public facing services, with only one poller. For each site/service I have two nodes setup just like Andy mentioned -- SITE1-External and SITE1-Internal. It works great. The outbound traffic hits our outbound NAT pool on the FW, then hits the…

I don't have NTA, so I can't isolate down the traffic, but on the weekends I have about 1Mbps each direction from those sites. So I think I can pretty safely say that the SW traffic is <1Mbps.
