Well, I couldn't wait until tomorrow and tried the hosts file trick. It now seems to have gotten past the cert error and I'm now getting a 500 error. If I run the curl command from the command line, it works fine, but if run from within the ticket system I'm working with, it gives me this: Status: Server error: `POST…

I don't know, but I'll try it tomorrow. I attempted to use a global_aliases file, but that doesn't seem to work. I also tried adding the certificate to the server's CA store, but when I do that, it complains that the name on the cert is different than the server name I am using. That said, I just realized I can try adding…

booyah. (that means count me in)

I wasn't sure, so I checked the UnDP help pages, and it indicates that INTEGER datatypes should be a Rate. I believe I tried Counter, but that yielded the same result. I'll try again and see how it goes.

I hope there's no limit to the amount of times you can reply to your own post. * Being able to set SNMP parameters for a specific subnet would be great. I know I said I didn't need to scan networks, but, there are definitely some internal networks that I'd like to scan. Not all my devices have the same SNMP string. If I…

Adding on to this script, I am now trying to allow the user to select the proper interface and VLAN and I've run into a couple more issues. For one, when choosing the VLAN, I see "No Entities" under the node in the selection window. I've done three iterations of Inventory Updates now and still nothing shows. Second, when…

Ours is about 550MB with 172 devices. Orion and Cirrus are on the same front-end server as well as the same DB server.
-
I think he wants to e-mail the config that Cirrus down loads, not the results. This would be a nice feature in my opinion.. Maybe I'm oversimplifying things here, but couldn't you set up a scheduled job to do a 'show run' (assuming Cisco), and email the results?

I actually get nodes still in the NCM database after deleting them from NPM, but it appears to only occur if said nodes are Unmanaged in NPM at the time of deletion. It has not been a serious enough problem for me to open a case yet. I don't see why we can't retain the ability to unmanage nodes in NCM while keeping them…
-
You could create a Yes/No custom property in the database for these nodes and then set up a stored procedure which updates this property on a daily basis (or whatever timeframe you like) during the hours you don't want to be notified. You can then set a suppression based on this, or just another trigger rule.

Thanks, but I think I'm going to forego this option, but I do appreciate the help. I really think that this is something that should just work. I shouldn't have to go out of my way just to be able to do something that I can do in every other type of alert without a problem.

The issue is that we potentially have dozens (or more) mini-private networks (we're a colocation facility) that we would need to monitor so the separate instances wouldn't really work in our case. We'll definitely look into the custom agent/web page option you suggested though. Thanks. Are these your customer's networks…
-
Not sure if this will work for you, but the solution to a similar problem in our network was to create a local account on the ipMonitor server *and* a local account on the remote server, both with the same name and password. For instance: ipMonitor Server Account: IPMON\ipMonExchange Exchange Server Account:…

That's definitely a sticky situation to be in. If the problem always shows up when pinging with 1500-byte sized packets, and the loss is not 100%, at least you're likely not dealing with an MTU issue. If you are seeing 100% loss on 1500-bytes, then you might be dealing with an MTU issue within your carrier's network. If…

As I said, you have to go into the web console and either create a new view or add the Custom MIB Poller graphs to a current view. This is the only way you can see the data - you cannot see it from the Orion System Manager. Before asking for this functionality from Solarwinds, I should tell you that they are not putting…
-
So the documentation for IPAM is wrong where it states you can used SQL Standard or Enterprise 2012?
-
Not 100% sure, but if you shutdown the poller and do a manual insert into the database, this should work. I know Orion has some issues with overwriting data written directly to the DB, but I think that happens only when all the Orion services are actually running. ICMP nodes shouldn't need any inserts to other tables…

This, which is in the release notes: * When upgrading on the Additional Poller, you may receive this error "The license we have for Orion Scalability Engine is outdated". See this article for details to resolve. This is happening on my main poller, not my additional poller, upgrading from 12.0. I just need to know if the…

I hate to keep bringing this up because it's so "brute force", but for your NOC displays, you can make a copy in IIS of your Orion website and run it on another IP or port. Then, you can make changes to that site's .css file without affecting the non-NOC site. Either that, or you can make a copy of whatever static page you…

There is no way to include ports in a report for which Orion is not polling. How would Orion know about their existence if it was not polling them? Here's an example - would you be able to tell me the names of all the people you don't know? :-) You can use a Custom SQL report in Report Writer to get a count of all 'up'…

You are all missing the most important thing here. We will have Meru Wireless support in the next version. MERU WIRELESS SUPPORT, GUYS! IT'S WHAT WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR ALL THESE YEARS!!! This feature was obviously high priority and asked for by thousands of customers, none of which apparently posted on the…

It seems as though the style sheet is messed up. All the fonts are Times New Roman and the information tables have no backgrounds. EDIT: I've tried on different computers, different browsers, cleared cache, etc.

I ended up just looking at what they were directly in the database, then dismissing them from the web gui. Now they show up again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
This is not a option as there are other , in my export data :-( May be a stupid suggestion, but the exported data has quotes around the commas. Couldn't you just find and replace the following string: "," with: ";" ?

I think this forum can also be a facility for the customers to submit their ideas about improvement in the features of the existing version of ipMonitor. Regards That's what this forum is for.
-
Just so I understand, are you talking about the "Acknowledged" function on the Alerts page or the "Clear Selected Events" on the Events page? Or something different? I would assume the first, but would like you to clarify before suggesting a possible solution.

I must say, sdaniels, that the 10.4.1 update helps resolve some of my issues, as I posted a couple of days ago. The "table view" is back, along with rudimentary copy-and-paste. It's still a bit clunky to use, but it seems to be coming along. I still miss the Win32 app, but the 10.4.1 update is definitely a step in the…

And hey bleearg13 - i do have some Cisco 6500 switch ports with all zeroes ;) Awesome Why a loopback or slip interface would have a physical address is beyond me.
