I think the custom property values flow from NPM to NCM since they are tied to the node itself.

I have the same issue. It started for me on last month's mission. I'm not sure I got points for completing the mission also. I have tried several machines and browsers, but I get the same thing.

I've been having troubles getting Cisco 2130 FTD to integrate with SW even to gather basic list of interfaces. SW says to ask Cisco to change where they are storing their interface information within SNMP. (Really?). Cisco says upload the MOBS into Solarwinds. Would really love to use SW to monitor these fitrewalls.

My 2 cents: You should have a fully documented network including: all network equipment, how it is physically placed in the environment. When a problem occurs, engineers shouldn't have to try to figure out where equipment is located. Preferrabll one or more visio's depending on the size and complexity of the network.…

A user called into ask if we could get the "internet to come in a little clearer". She was printing something she got online and it was "fuzzy". We immediately told her we would get someone upstairs to adjust the bunny ears for her.

I may not fully understand this request, but I have been using Custom properties for this. I know it is a lot to input, but if you will have to enter it somewhere anyway. Plus the custom properties give you a lot of flexibility in reporting and alerting. Such as if the node goes down, send an email to the site contact.

Hate to say it, but a good old fashioned fdisk and rebuild works good sometimes. I guess that's all ready your nuclear option though. Might as well go to 8.1 though in the process. If you have to go through the effort, you might as well get something for it.

Err-Disable, port speed and duplex settings, PoE status (power in use), agree more than two enhancements??

I like this idea. We use a combination of SharePoint and OneNote. Currently we get around some of the easy stuff by using custom properties on each node such as: address, contact, phone number, etc. If the device has a connected WAN interface, then we have another custom property for that as well. But it would be nice to…

Count me in too.

Solarwinds is a bit behind the ball on this one. This should be a mandatory requirement. Largest network device vendor and cant support their firewall?

I can't export the UDT fields from IPAM either. Not sure if that is per design, future feature, unexpected behavior, bug, etc. However if you have a report that you are running from the web console that hangs IIS, then it sounds like you have a problem somewhere that might require a call to support. I would try to narrow…

Would be nice to have some more capabilities with the topology information. For example being able to alert on up-link failures. If you have multiple up-links to a device and one fails it would determine this and alert on it. Now, the device remains up in NPM because it is still reachable, but its bandwidth or redundancy…

Another option to bring up a sort of Excel table is to go to Manage Nodes, Then select the "Custom Property Editor" button. This will bring up a table of all nodes and custom fields. You can then go through and add all the data. Save often!

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.2406 = Cisco FirePOWER FPR-2130 Security Appliance When this has been incorporated onto the SolarWinds database, will I be able to poll the interfaces on this device? Currently it does not discover the pyhsical interfaces. It returns a wierd list of interfaces. As I understand it, Cisco must not be using…

I agree, It takes a long time to accumulate 10,000 points. If we earn that much and purchase the backpack, we should be able to proudly display our accomplishments forever. Over time, general use will cause wear and tear. I agree we should be able to re-purchase. Love the back pack, had it for a few months, but I have a…

Check cabling or jetdirect firmware.

NPM doesn't offer real-time as far as I know. I presume this is because it only polls the device as often as you want to slam your pollers. The Engineer's Toolkit offers a real time interface monitor that lets you bring up any interface and watch its utilization.etc. every few seconds. Works great,

Are you trying to determine if a UPS is actively using the battery? What you have looks correct, though I'm not sure that I have used that particular MIB. Here is what I have. Note I have a few different vendors of UPS equipment. Also I have a custom property that tells me if it is a critical UPS or just some small ups…

Here is out procedure. Sorry for the late reply. Hope this helps! Rogue AP Detection Through the use of SolarWinds, many different MAC address tables are built. Each of these is used for different modules within SolarWinds. These tables can be queried through SQL to identify interesting information. A SQL job that runs…

Rogue AP Detection: What is a Rogue AP? Most people refer to ii as a wireless device hosting some sort of wireless network within your airspace. While this can cause interference and potential user issues it isn't really a security issue unless it is trying to mascaraed as one of your access points OR ... My definition of…

I too have UDT and I can see some subnets that contain UDT data, but the UDT fields do not show up in the Export option. So exporting them to Excel may not work for me. I'll need to dig deeper on this issue. However for you, I think you should be able to go to the top level within IPAM and select all subnets and all…

I have the same issue. Temperatures are shown in F, but when I change it to C, it reverts back to F. I'm on the newer 10.7.2 RC version of NPM

Have you verified the actual backup job works correctly? From the CONFIGS, JOBS tab, can you run the backup job and determine if it finishes correctly?

I have the same problem, but when I enable Smart Sizing, it appears to let me type. If I have a detached toolbar, it does not.
