The IP address in the BAT file is for the SMTP server. My lab setup doesn't include a DNS server. Hence the email address of meb@10.199.15.156

vinay.by wrote: Hi aLTeReGo , I have a follow up question on this. When i deploy SAM on say NPM Server which has a SL2000 and new SAM node based license is AL4000 which sums up to 6000 nodes, does that mean i can discover the interfaces after 2000 devices ? assuming i just have one primary poller and no APE. I'm afraid…

A Buddy Drop was prepared which addresses this issue for Orion Platform 2018.2. If you are unable to upgrade to 2018.4, then please open a support case. They should be able to provide you with this Buddy Drop. Simply reference 'CUST-48685'.

Hopeless? No. I agree it would be helpful to include some level of impersonation to the trigger actions in the Advanced Alert Manager. I recommend posting this as a feature request in the Ideas section of Thwack.

That's certainlly fair. If you want to encrypt the password as part of your script, Linux has provisions for handling that. encrypt en decrypt password inside Unix shell script | JVL Services

You would need to perform this mathematical function as part of an advanced SQL alert macro using the ${SQL:SELECT} format. No native in-built ability to convert values to megabytes or gigabytes exists within the Advanced Alert Manager.

I have notified the support engineers handling each of those cases.

sans, do you own Server & Application Monitor and are under active maintenance? Only existing product owners with active maintenance are allowed access to the beta forum. mrs.alterego may be able to provide some additional insights into why you are receiving the error you referenced above.

This issue should be resolved in NPM 12 and SAM 6.2.4.

PowerShell is a fickle little *****, er.. I mean princess. It's not possible to execute 64bit PowerShell from within a 32bit process like the Orion Alert service. As such you will need to call the 32bit PowerShell.exe from your command line. The 32bit version PowerShell can be found under…

Absolutely! Just yesterday we opened up our new Thwack Ideas section where you can post your product enhancement requests.

This report is for SAM only, and not applicable to NPM. I assumed you were referring to SAM because this is posted in the SAM (Server & Application Monitor) forum here on Thwack. If you're in need of assistance with NPM I recommend posting in the forum. You can also get assistance with reports in the .

Could this KB article be related to the issue you are experiencing? * SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: WPM temp files are not cleared automatically. Specifically the solution section to prevent the crashing.

The HTTP/HTTPS component monitors in SAM don't currently support smart card authentication. This is something better suited for Synthetic End User Monitor. However, if you're trying to achieve basic application monitoring for these web sites you could use a simple TCP port monitor in SAM configured to monitor port 443.…

It depends. Are these HTTP GET/SENDs parts of some web services such as JSON or SOAP or is this a multi-step web transaction such as validating a web form submittal, or website login?
-
Changing the IP address is pretty harmless. You just need to remember to be sure and re-run the Configuration Wizard again after changing the IP of any Orion server.
-
Here you go. Enjoy

I agree that it's puzzling. Can you look through individual nodes in Orion for the same time period and determine if they too are seeing the same high response times?
-
Maybe NG and I are Solarwinds "Power Users". ;-)
-
Are you willing to share that with me either in this thread or in direct message?
-
Is it possible you configured HTTPS manually in IIS rather than enabling it through Orion's Configuration Wizard?
-
Have you seen our Veeam template for SAM posted here -> Veeam Backup and Replication Server

Applications are simply wrappers which contain individual component monitors, so they don't have statistics beyond general availability. The closest possible equivalent would ${ComponentsWithStatus} or ${ComponentsWithProblems}
-
An RPC Fetching Method option has been added in SAM 5.5, which is currently available in Release Candidate.

Workaround: put parenthesis around the custom filter. Like this: Ahh, much better... Thank you!

There are several different SQL clustering methods. The template being developed would applicable to SQL Failover Clustering.

If you don't have a "Network" tab at the top of your web interface next to "Home" and "Applications", then you don't have NPM installed. In that case I would recommend downloading and installing the SAM 6.2.1 RC which contains a bunch of fixes for the web based alert manager, some of which are directly related to macro…

Ugh.. Everytime I think I know what might be the issue your response is completely to the contrary. Since both the Node and application are going unknown this sounds like an Orion Core/Collector issue to me, but it's hard to diagnose via Thwack. I was hoping to have a quick and easy fix for you but just wasn't in the…

Thresholds have already been defined in this template so the out of the box "Alert me when an application goes into warning or critical state" should work fine for notifying you whenever a failover occurs.
