oops... almost forgot. Orion Web Interface SharePoint like portal overhaul that include new charts and gauges. Ajax? Mobile device interface for Windows Mobile/Palm/Blackberry Alerting Engine RSS Feed Support SNMP Trap Receiver Support for SNMPv3 Traps NTA Netflow view that displays application traffic over time in an area…

It's likely a group policy or local policy issue. I would check the Windows event log on the remotely monitored host to see what errors you're receiving. They may lead you to cause of the issue.

You do need SAM, but it does not require the latest version of SAM. SAM 5.x should also work.
-
No changes have been made to this behavior in either 2013.1.0 or 2013.2.0. Advanced SQL Reports cannot be sorted in the Orion web interface, while regular reports created using the pick list method of the Report Writer can.

If the machine is running OpenManage, then you should be able to access the OpenManage web interface via the URL https://{ipaddress}:1311/ replacing {ipaddress} with the IP address of the server running Dell OpenManage. From there you should be able to determine the version of OpenManage running on the server.

You need to click into an individual component (process, service, etc.) from the Application Details view to be taken the "Component Details" view.

tigger 2 wrote: aLTeReGo, When you say "Instead you should use the Orion SDK so all remnants are removed from the database" do you mean using the Orion SDK to go into the "Orion.Volumes" table and find the row that corresponds to the unresponding volume and just delete that row? No other things to do via the SDK? There is…

Select one ESX host only and then change 'Poll Through'

Well the 1st step is to configure the Cisco switches to send syslog by entering the "logging" command in config mode of your Cisco devices followed by the IP address of your Orion server. I.E. switch(config)#logging 127.0.0.1

Are you running 12.3 or 12.4?

The nodes should be managed via WMI for discovery of Windows Scheduled Tasks to work properly. It's also important to note that the option to monitor Windows scheduled tasks will not appear as an option for nodes, even it they're managed via WMI, if they have no configured Windows scheduled tasks on the node that be being…

As stated above, there is no interface for updating these credentials. The can only be deleted and recreated through the Orion web interface.

I genuinely do not know the cause, as this appears to be very specific to NetPath. That suggests to me that it likely has something to do with the WinPcap driver, but that's just a guess. cobrien or jason.carrier might be able to provide more detail.

Have you tried running the SolarWinds Orion Module Engine service under an administrative account?
-
I agree. My estimate of 10% as the norm for NetPerfMonService.exe was rather high. Killing the process and restarting it does bring it back to life for an hour or so, until it dies again.
-
Have you considered reaching out to COMTEK? They provide an SNMP Agent for IBM AS/400 iSeries servers, and have assisted a multitude of SolarWinds customers with monitoring them using SAM and/or NPM.

I apologize. I assumed there was some level of connectivity between the SAM server and the application, just that ICMP was not allowed. Such as trying to monitor microsoft.com with an HTTP User Experience Monitor since Microsoft doesn't allow ICMP. If you truly have no route/path to the host you want to monitor, but…

The following PDF should help get you pointed in the right direction. http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/apm/docs/Configuring_and_Integrating_PowerShell.pdf

What version of Exchange are you running and what operating system version are you running it on?

Andy is correct. There is no automated way of adding applications based on node assignment to a group. We are tracking a feature request internally under FB90756 to show child status as part of group status roll-up. You could theoretically automate the inclusion of applications into groups based on node assignment using…

Have you clicked the "Configure Server" button pictured below when accessing the application? This window should appear the first time you try to access the Application Details view of AppInsight for IIS for that node from the "All Applications" resource when PowerShell hasn't yet been configured. You can re-run the…

That database however has lost redundancy and is really no different than if you had lost a hard drive in a RAID. How this information is reflected in the UI is for a multitude of reasons. The most important being that if the secondary Exchange server was "Down", AppInsight for Exchange on that node would go into an…

We're currently working on some improvements to our SQL server monitoring that should address these concerns. Keep your eyes on the for more information as it becomes available. For now though, the following thread might help get you pointed in the right direction. sql server - How can I get the size of the Transaction Log…

The APM_HardwareItem table contains the current state/status of each hardware sensor.

Are the events you're looking to monitor for with SAM generated natively by the Windows operating system, or from 3rd party application? If you open the native Windows Event Viewer on the Orion server itself and connect to the remote host, do you see the full message details or just the message "The description for Event…

The default out-of-the-box "Alert me when a component goes into warning or critical state" should serve as a good starting point. From there you can configure the Trigger Actions to notify you via email or whatever notification mechanism you prefer. You can also fine tune the Trigger Condition to specify only that specific…

BIND does not use account credentials. Instead, a TSIG key is used.

I'm out of ideas. Obviously this shouldn't be occurring. The simplest solution would be to delete the node and re-add it again but that's far from ideal. Failing that as an option I suggest opening a case with support so we can look through the diagnostics to determine why the child status indicator isn't being properly…

Not at this time out-of-the-box, though this information could be retrieved using SAM's script monitors. Information like this is something we would consider as part of .

An email was sent to the email address you provided as part of the survey on Thursday, July 5th at 4:52PM central time. I did notice however, that the email address you provided in the survey is different from your Thwack email address if that helps you locate it. Either way I'll re-send the email to your Thwack email…
