sqyntz, When downloading the config in the Config Transfer Workspace Studio gadget the configuration information if transferred from the device to a file on the machine hosting the TFTP server. Once the transfer is complete the Config Transfer gadget reads the contents of this file into memory and displays it. The file is…

Haley is correct. The polling interval is simply how often VoIP Monitor asks the IP SLA capable device the results of its testing. Currently VoIP Monitor sets up when the tests will start and complete but uses the devices defaults for the actual test configuration. The default for most devices is to send a series of ten…

SolarWinds does not support the direct editing of rule files. It is recommended that you create your own rule and set it as desired.

We are not allowed to comment on time frames of fixes or features other than to say that we will address it in a future release. However, I recommend keeping an eye out for official announcements of Toolset releases and note any listing of new features or major improvements.

Ron, Yes, there is a related issue with 'Route Viewer' gadget. It will be fixed in a future release. Thanks for the heads up on these issues! --Steve

Each node will generate its own unique key that is sent to the Toolset machine. The Toolset machine will look to the if that key is mapped to a credential. If it is already mapped it will use the stored credential. If it is not mapped it will prompt you to enter a credential. So if a credential is changed or becomes wrong…

The SNMP Real-Time graph is showing the raw value of if(In/Out)Octets (which would be in Bytes) while the RTIM is displaying in Bits Per Second.

tfarren, Currently there is not a way to change the database location for Syslog Server. -- Steve

I have put this feature request into our system as either an additional field to an existing tool or a new tool designed specifically for this purpose. Please share any details about your use cases that would allow us to make the best implementation decision. Thanks for your input. -- Steve

Are you using pass through authentication?

For now you can do the following: You know the name of the alert when you create it, you can add the alert name into the text of the alert message where you were planning on putting the macro.

You identified what what going on in the log correctly. The OID was showing as not supported. In VoIP 2.0 we have changed the way we check for support. There was no fool proof way to get the appropriate OIDs so during support check we setup an actual operation and then remove it. This takes care of the issue in 1.0 where…

An update to this thread: We have identified the cause of this problem. Spikes occur when our software polls a device more frequently than the device updates its internal SNMP tables. Some devices update their internal tables faster than once a second while others update slower than once every 10 seconds by default.…

Correct. You will want to contact your sales representative about purchasing a license or extending your evaluation period.

If the alert engine is unable to keep up with the number of nodes and interfaces you are checking then I would keep only the critical alerts set to one minute and set the rest to five minutes. It is really up to each organization to define what alerts are ciritical for them.

FHR-Phil, Testing showed that the chart control was able to maintain responsiveness on the average system with that many data points. Each system will be somewhat different though. I have entered "making the data points configurable" as a feature request in our product road map. I can't speak to what version that feature…

For those modifying the SwToolset.MenuOptions file to customize your Orion/Toolset integration menu the file you will want to edit now is at: <LocalApplicationData>\SolarWinds\ToolsetIntegrationTray\Menu.xmlWhere <LocalApplicationData> = <ProfileFolder>\Local Settings\ Application DataThis is for the current method of…

Please open a ticket with support for these licensing issues.

I've checked further and found that SNMPv2 is the only version we currently support for Traps.

My apologies. I was thinking I had read that you only had .net 4.0 installed in your first post but after re-reading I was mistaken. The error you are having can happen when your "My Documents" folder is corrupted. Did you change your "My Documents" folder form the default? Check the following registry entries to see what…

That is scheduled to be addressed in the current release we are working on. The plan is to make that field work the same as it did in the Classic SPM. --HTH Steve

rsprim, Your recommendation is a good one. There should be more descriptive text to make hotfixes clearer. I'll pass on your recommendation to the team that handles that. Thanks! -- Steve

Just to cloud up the issue: NetPerfmonService.exe is single threaded only in how it coordinates the information collected. Information is collected in an asynchronous multithreaded manner. All other Orion services are fully multithreaded.

Something in the chain from source to destination and back again is timing out. This can be due to the destination device flooding or being overloaded or any device between the source and destination having issues.
-
We had an issue with ProCurve devices that we addressed in the 10.5 release. The current release is 10.6 what version of Toolset are you currently running?
-
${Node.IP_Address} should work. If it is not try adding a dummy condition in your criteria such as: NodeID is equal to NodeID This will make sure that node items are joined in your query and that the variable resolver has access to the nodes information.
-
This sounds similar to an issue we fixed for 10.6. Can you try the 10.6 eval on that machine to see if it fixes your issue with the Neighbor Map gadget. --HTH Steve

Yes, any CallManager data you were getting before VoIP 2.0 will be available again.

brian_devall, There could be any number of things happening. The devices themselves may not support echo or there could be something in the return path filtering the traffic. -- Steve

Anthony, This file will only impact the WMI Browser Gadget in the Workspace studio. When you start up an instance of that gadget it will attempt to read that xml file. When you close down an instance of that gadget it will attempt to write to that xml file. If it is unable to read or write to that file the WMI Browser…
