In advanced alerts we have the 'Has Changed' comparison that currently only supports the Last Boot, IOS Version, and IOS Image Family. Please send us what additions you would like to see and we can look into adding the most popular items into the 'Has Changed' comparison. Until then bcole's suggestion to setup an advanced…

Excellent, I am glad that you got it working. Thanks for posting back to the forum so others might be helped! -- Steve

I re-read your original question and noticed that it was about testing the alert. When testing the alert it is possible that a node was chosen that did not support the type of alert so the alert test system chose a node that does support that alert type. This happens in the test fire scenario but not in an actual live…

Switch Port Mapper provides the MAC addresses of the devices on the far end of the connections so it is getting them from the LAN and not just from the switch. --HTH Steve

If this is for Advanced Alerts you can clear out triggered alerts. To clear ALL alerts for an alert definition select the definition in the Manage Alerts window and click the clear button. To clear specific alerts look at the alert list in the active alerts view of the system manager and click the 'clear' button on the far…

I ran this past the Kiwi CatTools team and they indicated that the Device name was used as the key during import. If your devices in Toolset are static then you might have empty device names and CatTools is picking them up as duplicates. Would you mind private mailing me the file you are trying to import and I'll see if…

Can you provide more detailed steps for how you are exporting by group as I have not been able to reproduce the results you are seeing. Exporting with the view filter set to Group by Group name is providing a correct file for me. As far as importing into Kiwi Cattools I will check with the Kiwi team and post back here what…

Excellent. Glad I could help.

Raglad, Dagwood, Mr. Wick, I apologize for the inconvenience you've had using our Toolset product. If you are interested in setting up a GoTo meeting PM me and I will schedule a time where I can look into this problem further. -- Steve Toolset Lead Developer

mthomas1999, I tried to reproduce the issue to make sure we didn't break that in 10.7. I have not been able to reproduce that issue. However, you can delete the file that stores the dock window settings and see if that clears it up for you. Shut down Workspace Studio and then delete the following file (we recommend making…

The test fire button only runs the alert actions. It is not affected by the trigger condition configuration. It is likely that you are selecting a node to test fire with that does not support the alert type for the selected alert. For example, if you are setting up an application alert but select a node that does not have…

It is dependant upon how many nodes/interfaces/call paths you are monitoring, how often you collect statistics, how much free space is on your server, and how many auxillary services you are running. Try it all on the same box for a while. You will be able to look at space, memory, and CPU reports to see how your server is…

RoyalEF, There should be no harm uninstalling previous versions of Toolset before installing a new version rather than upgrading. During uninstall Toolset doesn't delete any files off your system that it didn't put there itself so your existing data files should remain. Of course we always recommend to back up your system…

We get the Rx and Tx values from the device's SNMP agent on the following MIBs: ifInOctets: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10 ifOutOctets: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16 I can't speak to where Fluke is getting its values.

sonic6t9, The Engineer's Toolset is for one user to use at a time. They are not deployed via the web. If you want to use the Tools on the server you have to be using the server machine. If you want to use Orion/Toolset integration you can be logged into Orion from any machine but that machine has to have Toolset installed.…

Interesting, can you send your diagnostics in so we can take a look. Run the SolarWindsDiagnostics.exe tool that is in Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion and it will collect information into a zip file that you can send us. Thanks.

We review the outstanding labs each Toolset release to determine if we want to roll the lab into the release, update the lab, drop the lab, or continue it until we get additional feedback. That discussion hasn't happened yet and I am not permitted to comment on time frames of releases. As far as making the labs stand alone…

Snoopy1, TFTP Server is a stand-alone free tool that is also included in the Toolset. I am unclear on which one you have. If it is the stand-alone version then you should be able to get to the help just by clicking on the help link. If you have Toolset bring up the Toolset documentation and goto the following section:…

esamurai, In Engineer's Toolset version 10.6 and later we use a new method of communication between Toolset and Orion for Toolset/Orion integration. With this new method you should be able to use browsers other than IE if you choose and you should not receive security messages from the browser. If you are already running…

Also, when you are manually setting up the operation make sure that you are setting the lifetime of the operation to 2147483647 which will expire the operation only when the device is cycled.

To clarify, Toolset supports SNMPv3 and Orion supports SNMPv3. It is only the shortcut of starting a Toolset tool from the integration menu in Orion that passes only SNMPv1&2 community strings. Adding the functionality to support SNMPv3 to the integration shortcuts is on our product road map and will be addressed in a…

thamizh85, Use the Switch Port Mapper gadget in the Workspace Studio and go into settings to make sure you show columns dealing with interface status and times of last changes. --HTH Steve

Geoffrey, It is simply a matter of resource prioritization. We had always intended to add the SNMP functionality from the original tool into the updated version but chose to prioirtize other things higher at the time. That functionality is still on our road map. We have no plans to remove the deprecated version of the tool…

Walidd, I was thinking this might be for the Netflow free tool, my mistake. Let me see if I can get someone from the NTA team to address this question. -- Steve

On the Trigget Conditions tab the bottom of the dialog has a setting for: Do not trigger this action until condition exists for more than __ ___ You can set the number of seconds|Minutes|hours that the condition will have to exist before the alert is triggered.
