Can you verify the problem you are encountering please? There are two issues discussed in this thread, so I want to ensure I know which one you are seeing. Regards, Steve

If you mean for the Cisco IOS switches 2960 then http://thwack.solarwinds.com/message/181426

hi betrachter This thread was with respect to the Cisco.Wireless.LAN script. Could you repost your question on a new thread please? Also have you raised a tech support ticket? We will most likely need to get some diagnostics from you to look into this further. Regards, Steve

Hi Mathieu- Couple of things you may want to check. 1) Do you have WinIce/SoftIce or Ollydgb dubugging tools installed? If so, this may be your problem. 2) If not, you could try the following IE config change: * Click the Tools button , and then click Internet Options. * In the Internet Options dialog box, click on the…

nieman-- The problem may well be related to your VMWare configuration rather than the upgrade of CatTools. You can configure VM's to use multiple 'virtual' CPU's, (based on the number of physical CPU's you have on your server). Can you check the VM setup for the one hosting CatTools and ensure that there is only 1 virtual…

There was a modification to the Cisco.NXOS device script in CatTools v3.7.0 for an issue post SSH authentication which 'may' be related to the problem you are having. The fix was specific to scenarios where SSH credentials were used to establish a secure connection, but then no further (local) device authentication was…

Hi moadil, Could you start a new thwack thread on your Dell issue please as this one relates to HP. Thanks, Steve
-
The problem here is that normally you'd get a 'Press any key to continue' type message from the device, which is one of the items CatTools is waiting on. It appears that your device is responding with some message about registering your product with HP: We'd like to keep you up to date about: * Software feature updates *…

Hi McMurphy, It sounds like there are no UDT Layer3 jobs being created. Can you check the UDT Job Status page (Settings > UDT Settings) and see whether there are any 'Layer3' jobs listed? When you performed the 'Port Discovery' in UDT, was the 'Include Router Discovery' check-box ticked? If the answer is 'yes'; then did…

Hi smb31, Can you check the IOS version on the device(s) having issues please? If it happens to be IOS 12.2(52)SE, then you may need to try the revised script which is posted in the following thwack thread: Let me know how you get on. Regards, Steve

Hi olsonkyle12 Normally Cisco devices tend to all work the same with the login process if IOS based. I'll contact you offline to get a CatTools device debuglog so I can look at what your device responding with and hopefully we can get your device working with CatTools. Steve

Comblues, The latest CatTools release is 3.5.0. The version (3.3.4) you are using is over 2 years old. I'd therefore recommend upgrading to the latest release to see if this resolves the issue. Regards, Steve

Hi tjfoxtrot-- Can you confirm for me please which version of CatTools you are running? Steve

Hi Jason, Can you raise a support ticket with regards to the missing information in the Port Details List resource on the Node Details page please. We'd need to get the diagnostics from you to look into this further. Let support know when you raise the ticket that you've spoken to the UDT dev team on thwack. With regards…

Hi cyphao, Did you mean to say 'NCM' or did you mean 'CatTools' instead? If you are having issues with NCM, please post on the NCM forum as there may be a work around available for you that the NCM team can offer. Thanks for confirming that the 1800's default prompt is indeed a '$' though. Kind regards, Steve

The issue is in the 'DetermineHostname' routine where CatTools tries to figure out an 'anchor-point' for the device so its is able to tell when a command output has been returned in its entirety. On your Brocade it would seem that CatTools is not receiving a CR or LF (Carriage Return or Line Feed) character which it…
-
Hi Chris128, With regards to the 'Prompts' tab; the type of prompts being referred to are 'Please enter username' and 'Enter password' type of prompts from the device (i.e. prompts to you the user to perform an action), rather than the actual device hostname prompt. If CatTools is having issues with the device hostname…

Hi Andy, Many thanks for the TAC update on the Cisco 3750 stack issue. This is very helpful information and could save other users a lot of time and effort in trying to find out the cause of the problem. Greatly appreciated. Steve

Hi Andy, Thanks for your posting on the Cisco 3750 stack issue. Could you please update this posting again when you hear back from TAC? Many thanks, Steve

Could you open a new thwack thread for the issue with your Cisco ACE please, as it's non-related to this Nexus thread. Thanks, Steve

If the workaround above isn't working for you, I'd recommend opening a ticket with support so we can get some diagnostics from you to look into the issue in more detail. Regards, Steve

Try restarting the CatTools service (from the Windows Services Manager). What sometimes may happen is the license gets applied to the CatTools Manager (UI), but the CatTools Service still retains the old license key. A restart of the service will reload the license.

Hi Jeff(s), I've been having a think about this one and the problem is the sequence in which the commands: _cmdline-mode on y secret password are required. The CatTools Variations feature was designed to get round most issues with unsupported devices, but this one just doesn't quite fit the model. However, that being said,…

Now that look familiar. I think this may have been the OID which needed the .0 appended. Steve

No worries Max. I believe the CatTools API was specifically designed with VB in mind because VB is the language that CatTools application code is written in, and that was the requirement for the customer use-case at the time. Probably a bit of an oversight that it doesn't fully work on VBScript. From what I can tell, it…

There seems to be many different causes and solutions to this problem (Firewall blocking, Anti-Virus, etc.) One more you may like to investigate is the security permissions for the diff.exe in the CatTools install folder. I did some testing today on 2008 R2 changing the security settings for the diff.exe and was able to…

- bravoromeocharlie and other thread followers: I worked with a customer recently with regard to this issue but when I went through with him, the diffs appeared to be working perfectly (which is never very helpful when trying to find the cause of an issue). Customer said: Please close this ticket. This issue was resolved…

Hi jfitzell, Was the failing to compare configs an intermittent issue or was it something which was occurring with every backup activity run? Kind regards, Steve

Hi /kenw Many thanks for you feedback and comments. I'll pass them on to the CatTools Project Manager for you. RE> There is one weakness with this approach that comes to mind: if the manager is open and the timer stopped, and the server is restarted, it would appear the scheduler would not automatically start. In the…

Hi Bob, If you haven't already done so, I'd recommend raising a support ticket for this one as it will most likely require an indepth investigation to work out what is going wrong. Regards, Steve
