This also appears to be the behavior for the Syslog.NodeID field as well. What are my options for having this field automatically update going foward now that the node has been added to NPM?

This is a known bug. It's fixed in NTA 2.2.1, which should be out by next week. I have seen a couple of posts regarding NTA 2.2.1. Has this been released?
