It is currently 12.5 GB. Before I started summarizing the NetFlow data at a more frequent interval, it was about 40 GB and there weren't any SQL performance problems then either. As long as the proper SQL recommendations (spindle count, IOPS, etc.) are taken into consideration when your SQL cluster is setup with SAN…

You should be able to get this information by just monitoring one of the switch interfaces via SNMP. If you monitor both interfaces, you could compare the numbers and they should be mirror images of each other.

I have been wanting to submit this exact request for some time. I have seen this functionality in many other tools. This is exactly the type of improvement I would like to see for graphs.
-
Works for me.

That list of fixes is great. However, I personally never saw this error until I upgraded to NTA v3.

Try the following: slbVirtualNumberOfConnections 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.161.1.4.1.1.17 slbVirtualTotalConnections 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.161.1.4.1.1.18

Is this on the feature request list for NPM? I would like to see an option to strip the domain name in both NPM and NCM. The only reason I have domain names configured on these devices is because it is required for SSH. Please, please SW add this feature request to the list. I know that I am not the only one that wants…

craig999 is right, you could try disabling netbios and using a hosts file (which in the case of netbios is actually the LMHOSTS file).
-
Try either using the 'root' credentials in NCM or editing the template to specify /config/bigip.conf.
-
The Cisco terminal servers require the use of separate TCP ports too. In fact, any terminal server I have ever used makes use of multiple ports rather than multiple IP addresses. I am not sure what device(s)/whom the unique IP addresses solution helps.

I have a PIX 515E that is running 6.3(4) and I am able to monitor the interfaces via snmp. I am sure that it also worked when I was running 6.3(3). My snmp configuration is very similar to yours. To ask the obvious, do you have an acl configured on the PIX that might be blocking these requests?

I believe the "Universal Device Poller Status" resource puts ALL UnDP polled items, for that node, in a table. It would be very nice to pick and choose which ones ended up in a table.

How can I confirm what version of netflow my router is running ? Ensure that you have entered the "ip flow-export version 5" command on the router. Also, make sure that the ip flow-export source interface that you have configured on your router is being monitored by Orion. Also make sure that you have the netflow port…

Please do add it to the long list of feature requests. That is a good idea that would be very helpful!

Thanks for the reply. Always good to know that I am not crazy! :)

Allow us to customize that toolbar list so I can add SecurCRT to it. Support for SecureCRT integration would be great.
-
I would also like to add to this thread that I am getting "Connection Timeout" on SNMP process monitors too. This despite the fact that none of our other tools (including Orion) are noticing a connection problem.
-
Then how will you successfully eliminate Basic Alerts in favor of the Advanced Alerts?? Define "successfully". :)
-
I am having the problem across all monitors (TCP, WMI, SNMP). I have opened up a ticket for this. You may want to do the same so they can collect the necessary information from you as well.

jodros, See this link for more info about this subject:

I would definitely say that the website access in 8.5.1 is slower than in 8.1.

This might be a silly question but what is Network Traffic Analyzer, is this Solarwinds software? I have Orion NPM, APM, VOIP Monitor, Cirrus and Engineers Edition and have not seen this software in it. Network Traffic Analyzer (NTA for short) is an add-on to Orion much like APM and VOIP monitor. It allows for the…

Yes, I envision (for the future) the ability to create a custom role named whatever, "ConsultantAccess" for instance. The theoretical responsibilities would be the ones you stated as well as "View Configs", "View Jobs", "Find Address", "Schedule Jobs", "Edit Configs", for example, that you could check off to give custom…

familyofcrowes, Try this: Admin -> Node Management -> Expand (+) next to the Node -> Find the interface(s) that are grayed out and click the check box next to them -> Scroll back to the top and select "Delete"

NO! You must find Your Oion website folder! I think it might help if you specify which version(s) this works with. I don't think the Orion folder appeared until lately (8.5 I think?). These resources work for me running Orion 8.5.1.

Just glad to hear it is on the ever growing list...

FYI, I am running Orion 9.0 SP2 with Orion NCM 5.0 and this appears to have fixed the issue for me.
-
Can you double check that file name and location again? I am running version 9 and don't find a file by this name in that location. I am running Orion 9.0 SP1 and I can confirm that file name and location are correct. Make sure you go to that path on the appropriate drive letter for your installation. This simple change…

I'd recommend that you open a Support ticket for that one. I already have ticket # 24077 open from 11/16. 1. 1. Edit the AlertingEngine.exe.config file. Find this section: <logger name="UpdateTriggeredRows"> <additivity value="true" /> <level value="NONE" /> </logger> And change NONE to ALL. That will increase the logging…

Just glad to hear that you found a solution that works for you!
