I see this post from earlier this year. Are there any plans for Orion to natively detect the errdisabled status of a port? I have syslog rules configured to alert me when this happens but I would REALLY like to report on all of the errdisabled ports throughout the Enterprise. If this is not already on the list. Please…

Please add my name to the list. Thanks!

Ok...did what you said and it looks like it took but I still have alot of "unmonitored" ports. I did noticed in the SQL query that some ports did not have the enable checkbox checked. I'm no SQL expert but this query worked for me to enable each port that exists in the table. update ServicePorts set Enabled = 'True' where…

Bad Filter Specified: Site_ID Like ${Caption} Incorrect syntax near ':'. Chris, Please note that I used single quotes around the variable in my example: Location = '${Location}' When I didn't use the quotes, I saw similar errors. Thanks, Samuel

Before I went to open a support ticket I search the forum and came over this post. I think what I'm see started in 9.1...not 9.0. I have my all nodes tree ajax group on custom property levels. When I drill down the list the 1st custom property (city) works. The next 2 custom properties are listed as "unknown". Is that…

I have not seen it adversely affect anything else for me. Perhaps the SW staff can confirm this for you.

Just installed APM SP2 and it has seemingly fixed my connection timeout problems with SNMP monitors.

How about: del flash:<file_name> I'm not sure if you meant to say that instead of dir flash:
-
Could the problem be related to the polling interval? If the switches and servers are polled first and are determined to be down before the router is, you would get an alert for them first and then you would get an alert for the router.

Add another name to the list. When I first saw the custom property implementation for web node management, I thought this was coming soon because it was so obvious. There needs to be a checkbox for true/false values and a list/combo box for text based values.

The ability to give a reason when an alert and/or event was acknowledged would be very helpful. It would be nice to have a set of convenient reasons in a drop down list (that is configurable) but also have an "Other" option that allowed manual entry of reason for an outage. The ability to then report on those outages with…

Thanks Karlo! I will follow-up with the Support team.

We have been working with the Nexus BU and you should be able to monitor them with Orion. If not send me a PM and we can investigate. Brandon, we are looking at going with the Nexus 5k/2k solution in our data center. Can you confirm whether or not this works in Orion NPM out of the box today? Can you confirm the Orion NPM…

I realized that shortly after posting the question. Thanks Haley!

I have everything setup correctly as well, but still no graph.

This actually relates to all switches and routers. I'd like the ability to set it so that if a port goes from disabled to enabled that Orion automatically starts monitoring it. I'd also like to set certain types of interfaces to never be monitored such as Null and unrouted VLANs. I completely agree with this. I would like…

Yes, ESX-related tasks related to managing the VMs. I'm not sure if those would be exportable via syslog, however, it would be nice to have that information in Orion along with everything else.

Have you seen a standard (i.e., MIB II) SNMP MIB value that stores the name in the format you prefer? If so, it would be great if you provided it. I can add a feature request for Cirrus to collect that value. I have not seen a standard MIB either. Would it be possible to have Cirrus take the string value that it obtains…

And here is the place where the grouping by snmp location should be, I think. Sorry, I never did figure out how to get a thumbnail in here, even with Firefox. -Debbi Is it "All Nodes - Tree" that you are looking for? And then edit the resource and group by "Location". That is what I am doing to group by snmp location in…

Thanks Denny, great to hear!

Oh the joys of the QA process! Thanks for the informational update!

I am happy to report that I am no longer receiving this error. I have a suspicion as to why this error may have occurred though. When I installed NTA v3, I had to truncate the FlowCorrelation table in order to get it installed. I suspect that I received this error until the FlowCorrelation table was re-populated. I hope…

I will confirm that this also happens for me. I am running Orion 8.1.

Miron, Try using the SolarWinds Database Manager to edit the "Websites" table in the Orion database (Netperfmon by default). Change the entry in the "ServerName" column from the server name to the FQDN that points to the load balanced address.
-
Now APM seems fine. Application Monitor tab is still there, though it brings up a blank Application Issues screen. Are you still having this problem? Removing or renaming the "AppMon" folder in "\InetPub\SolarWinds\Orion", removed the old Application Monitor tab for me.
-
I've seen people advocating for both behaviors (nulls go in the Unknown group and nulls go "loose"), so I think I'll just make it configurable by clicking Edit on the resource. Thanks Tim! That definitely works for me and benefits everyone!

I use QLogic HBA's and would like to see these supported as easily as NICs are supported when monitoring servers. I requested this functionality but never got a reply in this post:

RTD is working just fine for me. It is working with all of my routers and switches. What devices are you using this with? If you login to the server and run the \Program Files\SolarWinds\Configuration Management\ConfigAutoDownload.exe <ip_address> manually does it work?
-
We could do a blindingly awesome release every three years, but I doubt that anyone would find that a better alternative. You know, I think you are right about that.

Does Cirrus Configuration Manager have a report that might show this info? The "Find Address" tool in Cirrus will find which port any of the first three on your list (MAC Address, IP Address and Hostname) is plugged into.
