Hi Craig, I assume he would like to be alerted on harddisk failures, power-supply degradation/failure, etc. At least that's what we are looking forward to (well, once we have APM working anyhow).
-
great, any estimated date for public availability?
-
I was told the solution is to either wait for NPM v10 and upgrade to Win2008 R2 or wait for APM 3.5 to release. *vents* Until then... I guess we just have to delay go-live of solarwinds again. Its only been 7months anyhow... not quite the ~1hour until its ready... and a lot of wasted money for support, if I knew I would…

@JB: Hey I was looking for a report like that :) Would you mind sharing that report?
-
+1 for this Reason? Because it is a pain with UnDPs, we have implemented it but new devices often get added without the UnDPs as other admins dont know which ones they should add and dont bother looking into documentations. Therefore we basically already have the functionality but it is not comfortable enough so it doesn't…
-
yea... Ive asked for this from day one :P Actually being able to monitor several IPs for a single device is what I was looking for but it should detect that it is only one device.
-
I believe there is a new product in development for this which would also mimic user interaction/entering data. Other than that you could of course always create your own script which returns the value to APM, for this you have vbscript or powershell available.
-
hehe sorry, i tend to not express myself very clearly sometimes ;-) if you use notepager that much, do you know if it has those capabilities I am looking for?
-
I use ^[ \t\r\n\v\f]*[A-Fa-f0-9][A-Fa-f0-9][A-Fa-f0-9][A-Fa-f0-9][A-Fa-f0-9][A-Fa-f0-9][A-Fa-f0-9][A-Fa-f0-9] to ignore hex data which does not seem to work... it detects the whole certificate as a change as the running shows the certificate and the startup only shows that it is stored in nvram

any news with this? the last posts were straying a bit from the original request I believe. Which is simply being able to graph on the reports created by report writer...
-
how do you even create/define the mobile view?
-
Selecting some existing charts, specify the time frame and send a bunch out as a pdf report would be a good start! of course being able to graph anything from any custom sql report would of course be better but i bet also far more difficult (seeing as on how long this has been dragging on I would settle for the first). It…

Hi Christine, I tried the built-in serial report in NCM which is practically useless unless you put a lot of work in it everytime you export it into excel, it lists items that don't even have a serial. The report I linked I would guess is what everybody would be looking for, perfect to send on which items you need a…

Main differences are instead of having two IP addresses with a single netmask, I have two IP's addresses each with their own netmask. Still no luck on my end with it. Also, what would happen if someone put in the interface "Internet" instead of "MgmtInterface", would this catch that? I will try to debug your regex later if…

There is nothing new in APM4 in this regard... however, why wouldnt the file age monitor work for you? you could set it to 1hour (not sure if 0.1 hour might even work?) and as soon as the file age gets above that limit again the alert would reset and would be read to alarm again. if that doesn't work for you a custom…
-
it is actually in the 10.1 release already, for v10.0 you can download it from your customer portal as gle wrote, the unmanage utility is basically the same in v10.1, only bugfixes have been done as far as I can tell.
-
Hi, we have the same problem, we have opened ticket# 217258 as an urgent case when this happened, it looks like the severity when opening cases does not matter as we haven't received help for this yet For us the error appeared out of nowhere, nothing was done and in the middle of the night from one poll to the other this…
-
I think you just need to enter the OID into the universal device poller, thats all...
-
Hi rcahill, correct, this report is the nicer formatted equivalant to the show inventory on the commandline but only includes everything that has a serial number. I haven't seen it not work on any device so far, on which models have you observed that this is not working? (of course NCM needs to be able to successfully…
-
I hear you... I was fighting with the same problems several times and also told SolarWinds that it is not the way it should be... if for some reason (whatever it may be) the certificate on the machine gets corrupted or lost, Orion won't even notify anyone that it is not polling anymore.

Hi netlogix, for some reason the query now produces sql errors: MACRO SQL ERROR - The conversion of a varchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value any idea on how to fix this?
-
last one works :P just wanted to post that you need to convert it to the same type first :) thanks for this, integrated this into our alerts as a gimmick to see how long it took to solve the problem ;)
-
yup, a link to the node in the NPM database would be real good, especially if you are able to link them in reports!
-
not on this, no.
-
That would actually be a nice feature for me too, although most of the time you can get around without the "not equal to". totally forgot that there is a SNMP monitor in APM though... =) Gonna make use of that soon, migrating some UnDP so I can better display the health of UPSs and sensors in our datacenter =) sorry that…
-
It does sound like you want a report from the report writer and use it in a view. On the server, just open the Report Writer and play around with it a bit... it always comes in handy! then open the admin guide pdf and search for report writer to get more usage infos about report writer, then search for report in view…
-
as far as I know you cannot set how many ICMP packets are sent... its just one probe per poll! The size however I believe you can control by the amount of text you enter.
-
got it working for both now... :)
-
Hi Martin, thanks for your response. I assume this is a different bug then?
-
I got a response from support: - Go to the Report writer. - Choose and edit those reports which are not displaying correctly on the web console. - On the "General" tab, uncheck "Group historical data by days" - Save the report and try running it on the web console again. The "Group historical data by days" was a feature…
