  • Thanks, right now, the previous Monitoring guy had it set so a user would just type in "nms" in browser address bar and be taken to Orion website. Can someone explain to me how I can get this to point to my new web server web instead?
  • As far as setting up the additional web, has anyone done this? I just want to know if when I install it, I want to be sure that the web on main poller remains active, I wnat to run the additional one in test mode for a couple of weeks. Anyone know if there are any issues to doing this?
  • Ha ha I am sure. I have actually found out that I have the additional web server component (I have just recently taken over all monitoring from a vetran that set it all up) Although it doesn't take a huge hit on performance, our thought is evry little bit helps, my idea at this point is to let all users point to additional…
  • The DB is on a seperate server, you mean you can not run the web on a sperate server??? That's crazy. Why would it not allow you to put the web on a different server?
  • I actually do not want to split out the web, we want to run the web on a seperate server to lesson the burden on the main poller box. I would think you could put the web on it's own server if you so wished.
  • OK thanks, I have done a MIB walk on it, but can't determine which MIB (if any) will give me what I need.
  • What I am doing is this. I run a primary (where NPM,APM, & Netflow run) and 2 secondary pollers. I have set my primary and one of the secondary pollers to check an intrnet website's main login page. I am trying to verify that this setup will provide a real end-user response time picture.
  • No this OID is not supported I need to know if there is a MIB for HP-SNMP that will show running processes.
  • Denny, thanks for the response. I have tried this by selecting Process Monitor - SNMP, then selected my HP-UNIX box (running hp-snmp) I have tried on several of my servers and they all come back blank for running process and counts (this is not correct) Am I missing something here?
  • So to monitor a website, do you just put in the url of the web or do you have to be monitoring the server it is running on?
  • Excuse my ignorance as I am fairly new to some of this, what would be the best way to test the condtions? I would like to know if alert is valid without having to bring down nodes.
  • I have not seen a response to this, our UNIX groups insists on running HP SNMP on their boxes, does anyone know how to get a running process listing off of this?
  • Two questions, how do we wrap it in a APM script as suggested. The whole point is we do not want to run this on our Orion server, we want to get a statistic on web experience from a remote machine.
  • Since the new version is now out, how do you get a process listing on a UNIX server?
  • Has there been any movement on this yet? We run an exclusive aruba wireless shop (over 4000 AP's and 1800 controllers) Very happy with Solarwinds with all else, but need this to get into being supported. Any timetable for it?
  • That was the conclusion I was coming to also as my oponion started to become if support does not want alerts on certain volumes, why monitor them. On another note, let's see if I can get some help on this: I have say 500 routers which sit off of 5 core devices. I want to supress alarms on the routers if a core device goes…
  • That would explain a lot, so I may have it set up right but the test will come back no matter what is selected. Anyone else ever heard of this?
  • And exactly how would you set that up. We had someone write a VB script to check a websites availabilty. Do we put that script on remote windows box as a batch file and execute the batch from APM And how do we display whatever results are returned?
  • That didn't work doesn't open graphic, just the infamous x in a square.
  • What I am trying to do is embed the detail map (it is a chart of MIN/MAX/AVG response time for a web site) into a summary page view. What I am trying to show is in the summary view for management, show a MIN/MAX/AVG response chart for the web site associated with the product.
  • The Caption is the custom properties on which I am filtering. We have maybe 40 servers, many with some name volumes (such as the standard / , /var, /opt etc plus some such as /dev/hd5, /dev/lvhd5 etc) All I want to do is send a;ert on either / or /var over 95% but I have tried everything I can think of, including saying in…
  • I have the same errors in my file: 932 May-27 16:01:27 : Error = Invalid column name 'OutPercentUtil'. 5932 May-27 16:01:28 : SQL = SELECT TOP 1 Percentile FROM (SELECT TOP 1 PERCENT AVG(InPercentUtil) AS Percentile From InterfaceTraffic WHERE (DateTime >= 39593 AND DateTime <= 39593.7083333333) GROUP BY…
  • I am also getting the same errors, however mine only occur at 2 specifiec times of day 2:17am a and 4:00am Since these do not occur at all times of day, the 'shutdown of all alerts and enable one at a time' would not work in this senario. Any suggestions??
  • <span><div class="Chart"><a href="">thwack.solarwinds.com/.../CustomChart.aspx mce_href="">thwack.solarwinds.com/.../CustomChart.aspx class="Title">Chairside Web- UE</div><div class="Subtitle">MIN/MAX Average Response Time </div><div class="Timespan">TODAY</div></a><div…
  • Was there ever a reply to this? We are wondering the same thing. If you ssign a user experience template to a particular node, shouldn't the check be done from that node?
  • My alert condition is set to all and also I have tried it with 'starts with' nothing seems to work, I even tried a test on a non-cisco device and it triggered....Any thoughts?
  • I have tried looking thru the manual and on posts, but have never discovered a concrete way of doing it, i am supposed to make a presentation on how we are going to do this as upper management wants it. I have seen how to do 1 layer of supprsion but nothing on mulitple layers which is what I need.
  • Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you, most things appear stable now, only issues we are still battling with are: JobEngine35.sdf file will remain stable size (5 days) at 65M then sunddenly shoot up to 120M once it hits 100M it starts affecting performance and causing services to stop. Constant DR Watson errors…
  • Does this work on a Win 2008 server? I am seeing the same thing!
  • So it actually has nothing to do with memory? That field would make sense for the CPU Utilization figure What we need to do is closley monitor the memory usage on the DB server.
