I hear you loud and clear about idea nav. I'm going to reach out to our platform vendor and see if they've worked on this. Thank you for the feedback.

Hi alewex, I'm not exactly sure where to start answering your question, as it seems very broad. I will point you to a couple posts, though, and the space for NPM, as I'm guessing that is the product you are wondering about. -- this blog helps explain the basic architecture of NPM and the core. -- this is the space in which…

I just popped the webcast recording into the announcement above.

I am going to put this into the Jive cloud and see what we get. I agree that it is confusing to tell people they have not voted on an idea that can no longer be voted on. Thanks for pointing this out NRMS.

Excellent, very happy to help.

I'm reaching out to find you an answer... stay tuned.
-
I'm checking on this for you. I'll post back as soon as I find out.

Hi , I'm sorry you found the forums difficult to use. Can you tell me a little bit more about where you hit snags? I'm glad the videos helped, but I have to admit it bothers me that you had to use them (and suffer through my narrative ). Thanks, Michael

Hi Mike, I'll get this in front of the right folks -- very glad to hear people like the new portal. Thanks, Michael

Here is the link: VNQM (http://info.solarwinds.com/VNQM) Glad you liked the sneak peek.

I got the links back. Please take a look. Sorry for the late response.

Hi Stephen, I think this is the link you are looking for Refreshing Alternative to SCOM, please let me know. Thanks, Michael

You can watch the recorded version of this here: http://www.solarwinds.com/resources/webcasts/npm-customer-training-level-1.html

Stephen, That is not actually the case. I've reached out to our sales engineering department. They will help you without your having purchased the product. Please look for an email from them. I apologize for not jumping on here sooner. Please let me know if you do not hear from them. Michael

All, Support is now in receipt of an upgrading document which gives guidance and links to previous downloads. You will need to be on current maintenance to receive this doc. Thanks, Michael

Dave, That is great news. We are still working through some kinks, obviously, but I'm glad to hear things went smoothly. The SQL server issue... is that something you think we should document? If so, could you give me a bit more info? If you really do think you might have just chosen the wrong one or something, I never…

Since I have opened the ticket for the thwack bug, I'm going with the CA workaround Go ahead and open a ticket for that.

Sorry all, try the one found in this post: which will lead you here (this one may change in the future): Looks like the other link was pointing to a previous post that has been deleted.
-
Glad you got it working. I'll be interested to see if more people find they have to go through this. If so, sounds like it should be investigated further. Hope it was just a fluke. Thanks, Michael
-
wbrown, I will work with my team to get closer to what you are looking for. Thank you, and everyone, very much for the feedback. Michael

Patriot, Yes. The straight upgrade of NPM is available (back to 7.8.5), but the NPM with modules is proving to have a number of side roads. When complete, would you like me to send the beta your way? Should be next week. If you'd like to see the lone NPM upgrade, I'll send that right away. Thanks for your patience, Michael

No issues at all. So, the first thing I would do is backup your NPM database and restore it to the SQL 2005 database server. The following PDF should help: Moving Your Orion NPM Database, http://www.solarwinds.com/support/Orion/docs/MovingYourOrionNPMDatabase.pdf. Then rerun the config wizard to point to the new database…

Hi all, Both links will work now: http://support.solarwinds.com/kbase/ProblemDetail.cfm?ID=1200 and http://support.solarwinds.com/kbase/ProblemDetail.cfm?ID=1241 Thanks, Michael

Hi juliandaniel, If you are viewing the site through an additional web server, that could be the issue. Your custom reports need to be copied to the same location on the additional Web Console. HTH, Michael

Greg, The only thing I can think of is possibly editing your local host file, adding the line help.web.server.ipAddress solarwinds.net to your local client. Hosts is found in the windows\system32\drivers\etc folder on most computers. You would then need to create a default redirect on your local webserver to point to the…

We are working on a redirect for this KB, but please use the following URL in the new system for now: http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/1407

Warbird and Donald, Thank you both for jumping in and offering to help. Our community never ceases to amaze me. You guys rock. TGhosh, A couple of things to try: 1. If possible, move the TempDB of your SQL Server to its own spindle. The TempDB is used to temporarily join data used by both NPM and NTA. If you can put that…

I also wanted to make sure folks knew about the following KB. I should have mentioned it earlier. http://support.solarwinds.com/kbase/ProblemDetail.cfm?ID=1119 This should provide a place to start. Michael

Looks like you found a bug. I will get our dev team engaged. Thank you. Michael
