  • Don, Thanks for the reply. One the interfaces in question is on a Cisco 7206 router. The Fae interface is configured for 18MB leased. Now at differents times on any given day that interface may show 140% utilized.....that I do not comprehend. I saw your explanantion, on a different thread, the same thing as it applies the…
  • I just pushed for and got Solarwinds this year and I am quite surprised at interface utilizations over 100%. I'm talking about 700% to over 1000% utilization on 100 MB links for Cisco routers and other quipment such as a HP Unix server. I need answers / A work- around/ resolution on this issue. Solar winds are you paying…
  • Hey, We gotta love these guys, Solarwinds called me on this issue regarding this post. A get-table, from the Mib browser on any of the Foundry Wireless Access points showed no MIB information being reported for the 802.11g interface. This is not a SolarWinds defect but an issue to take up with the Foundry Networks code…

  • NG, Much thanks for that reply. I did get scheduler downloaded and installed. That was the easy part. I selected a custom report and a default just for test. The configuration seem fairly straight forward. I'm using my NT username/password combintion, and pointing to the url of the report I want to email. Now, upon…
  • NG, Break it down a little. tell me about automating reports scheduling an emailing them. This is part of my current task and I've been trying to figure this out for past month. Say I've create a couple of custom reports and wanted those reports run weekly(A) and then automatically be emailed (B) to the managers??? How do…
  • quote:Originally posted by gonzajoh I don't agree I'm afraid. In order of importance IMO.... 1. Custom Mib reporting / alerting 2. TRAP HANDLING (can't believe they missed that one!!) 3. Device Grouping One could argue that NPM is a NETWORK performance monitor (up to L3 OSI). What you are requesting is monitoring…
  • NG, Much much thanks for your help and follow thru!!! Having read your last reply it just clicked. ......One thing found was an admin error (mine) the local server IP configured under settings had an extra dot hence the invalid syntax error. Once corrected, I made the admin account on Orion the same as the NT admin login…
  • NG, This I is what I see for all attempts by SW to email any the reports. I'm copying this directly off the log txt file: 3/13/2005 7:39:00 PM Started Job-331120.OrionJob 3/13/2005 7:39:00 PM Error processing Job "Exchange_Mail Servers Availabilty and Response Times" Error downloading web page from E:\Program…
  • quote:Originally posted by Don Yonce Rich, No problem. The Report Scheduler was written for exactly that purpose. It can print or E-Mail charts, views, and reports on a scheduled basis. • I reread the admin guide and it specifically says that the toolset must be installed on the computer(s) that you want to access web integration with Orion V7.7. This is not what I had imagined. I prefer Orion integrating with the full toolset that's installed on the server, that way I can troubleshoot using orion from any…
  • I upgraded to Ver8 for the EE and 7.7 Orion but not able to access the toolsets from the web yet....not sure if another tab is suppose to pop up when you mouse over a node or the options for toolsets should be on the page. How do you guys access the toolset from the web?? I must mention though that web pages seem to take a…
  • SW, I'm patiently waiting for the release of the Network services pack!! I already budgeted funds for this piece!...... If at all possible, I'd like to beta this package also. Did I say patiently????...I lied, hurry up with it! Marlon.A.Roberts Network Management Systems Engineer. ITSD/Verizon/SIM&S INC. Network Control…
  • I just finished an eval of NetMRI and it also confirmed some routing discards on the network. For each statistic, it displays a definition or basis for the alert. The description for routing discards is: " The following routers experienced more than 50 IP routing discards during the day of 2005-03-28. IP routing discards…
  • I've checked out the FAQs on that link and I'll be giving the trial version a run. Good find, thanks Marlon. Marlon.A.Roberts Network Management Systems Engineer. ITSD/Verizon/SIM&S INC. Network Control 732-532-5000 Marlon.A.Roberts@us.army.mil "Learn By Doing"
  • NG You are quite right about using the accounting on the Radius authentication server(s), problem is those servers and logs are remotely controlled and administered from a different location out of state so I gotta make do with my tools. The nice thing is I do see a lotta bits and pieces of the data I want in the Syslogs.…
  • Hey, NG, thanks for the reply! Yes I'm Syslogging those boxes to Orion. I just setup the Syslog server last Friday for a couple of Routers, Some Foundry and these Cisco Universal access router. I'm getting a slew of stuff all from the Cisco access routers which just looks like a lot of gibberish. I haven't quite figured…
