If you configured a read only username, it is important to leave the Read/Write part of the configuration blank.
-
See the 'Script Management' tab http://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/Orion/NCM/ConfigurationManagement.aspx

If you are trying to show this is a Summary view, your data source would have to be based on custom SQL. See the tutorial I posted on this thread Combine two UDPs on a line in a report If you are trying to show this on a node details page, you can simply add the 'Tabular Universal Device Poller' dashboard resource.

Microsoft SQL. Please check admin guide for supported versions
-
Completely agree. The new alerting engine has a bucket load of little things like these that make it an amazing engine.
-
Most likely because the netflow records do not contain all the required fields that NTA is looking for. The minimum set of fields should be listed in the admin guide
-
This is great for a single node. If you want to generate a report across multiple nodes, check out the 'primer' I just posted to this discussion Re: Combine two UDPs on a line in a report
-
If you add this to the Trigger message, it should work ${SQL:SELECT DATEDIFF(mi, '${AlertTriggerTime}', GETDATE()) }
-
Not officially supported. You can request root password by opening a support ticket, and install/enable net-snmp. It is not guaranteed to persist with version upgrades.
-
See this discussion and my suggestions Re: Alerting on a group the only change is that in the new version, you create the alerts from the web console.
-
Unfortunately, not. SAM is required to monitored hardware health of ESX hosts.
-
SAM does a pretty good job of querying Windows event logs. See documentation for this component type below SolarWinds Online Help You can look for keywords, severities, volume, event IDs, etc and also optionally store the details of the events. You can also follow the wizard from the 'Real-time Event Log Viewer' seen in…

If you look at the MANAGE > Nodes view, what is the status of the agent having trouble? Is it showing a 'Green' connected status? Also, is it showing that the Agent version is 6.0.0? Unless you have excluded the agent from automatic updates, it should have been upgraded to v6.0.0. Which connector are you trying to add?…

The 'classic' chart resources should still be available for selection. I can look up the exact name if you don't find it.
-
If you want the report to appear as a dashboard resource, this is an open feature request for which you can vote on https://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/3833 If you just want to add a list of custom reports in a dashboard view, this can be done by adding a 'User Links' dashboard resource into a view and add in the URL for…

Yes. Look for the out of the box alerts named like 'alert me when a group...' in advanced alert manager
-
The interface status is showing Gray (Unknown), i.e., there is a problem polling this interface. Are you able to poll everything else on this device? You can check the charts for recent data
-
thump, no you didn't miss anything. You can however send a filter to nDepth You may want to vote for this idea
-
I would add in NTA as well
-
Go to the advanced alert manager utility on the NPM server. You should finds some out of the box alerts that already do this. Edit and feel free to modify the thresholds.

Congrats, bsciencefiction.tv

What are the versions of NPM / SAM (you can find that in the footer of the Orion web console) and VMan?
-
Yes. See http://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/Orion/Interfaces/InterfaceDetails.aspx?NetObject=I:4441 http://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/Orion/SummaryView.aspx?ViewKey=VSAN%20Summary It should be a regular SNMP node from an NPM perspective.
-
this should cover everything http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/Orion/docs/SolarWindsPortRequirements.pdf
-
which version of SAM and other Orion products are installed?
-
What is in your group? Just the nodes only, or also the application / component monitors? If it's just the nodes, I think you need to go down the advanced SQL route of report writer. Depending on your setup, you can use one of these routes - quick win: use Application custom properties to mimic the specific groups you are…

Try changing the statistics polling interval (edit node) from the default 10 minutes to 1 minute so that you have more sample data points. Is there a command you can run on your Cisco devices to see the recent history to cross check the results?
-
This should work - Set polling interval for your custom SAM application template to be 12 hours - Search for event IDs in the event log for service stop and service start for your specific application - If you find both the stop and start events, thinks are normal. If not, it's an issue
-
jbrunke Did you try adding those Windows servers as WMI nodes instead (assuming you have SAM also)? It presents a cleaner list to choose from, and also doesn't count against your interface elements for licensing purposes
-
Use the 'All Nodes - Tree' or 'All Nodes - Tree (AJAX)' resource
