The websites table can get overwritten when you run the config wizard I believe. My suggestion would be to wrap a SQL macro around the alertacknowledgeURL macro to substitute the server name with your DNS name.
-
If you are using the latest version, the macro should be ${N=Alerting;M=DownTime}

Not exactly what you are after, but you can setup a separate config just for the SNMP section and generate a report out of it - Change NCM Settings > Config Minimum Length to 1 (as some of the devices can have just 1 community string) - Create a new config type (say SNMP) (From NCM Settings > Config Types) - Modify your…

Maybe a powershell script that queries the Q length and the processor count, and computes a ratio? You can set thresholds on this ratio. A Script Monitor can have upto 10 outputs - so, you can potentially capture and trend the Q length, core count and the ratio.

If you looking for the map to display a 'weather map' like the one below http://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/Orion/NetPerfMon/MapView.aspx?Map=587f1504-2d2f-4524-931c-bd3e31ca40e9.OrionMap&Title=Africa Edit the map from the 'Network Atlas' utility and from the 'More Options' on the bottom left hand, choose 'show link…

Using NPM SL500 and SAM AL700 as example license tiers, you will end up with 1200 nodes, 1200 volumes, 500 interfaces and 700 component monitors. The nodes and volumes are additive, and these are reflected in the Settings > License Details page. A node element is consumed only once. If you have a node already monitored in…

You definitely do not need a Domain Admin for UDT and IPAM. UDT requires a Windows login only to poll the AD for which minimum permissions are documented here SolarWinds Online Help IPAM possibly need a Windows account for polling & managing Windows DHCP and DNS servers. Again, the minimum permissions are documented…

Try this Remote Ping You will need SAM (Server & Application Monitor)
-
The number of licensed elements are shown in the Settings > License Details section of the web console
-
Use the SNMPwalk tool to check if the device provides that information via SNMP http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/1196 About the MIB walk tool http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/3145

a) max allowed duration is 6 months I believe but also means a hit on your DB storage and performance, and a delay in generating the dailys. b) if you look at the total number of records, the daily is roughly 1/3 of the daily + detail combined. I would open the database manager utility on the solarwidns server, and first…

Can you post a screenshot of the UnDP output, and the SAM component definition? The fact that it was recognised as net-SNMP is unrelated to the SAM component not working.
-
You can monitor device availability using ICMP (Ping) or SNMP. You can certainly use the response time and packet loss of each device to detect network problems Take a look at the response time and packet loss charts here http://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/Orion/NetPerfMon/NodeDetails.aspx?NetObject=N:251 and the Top X…

This one doesn't need any scripting Go the Jobs view of NCM Duplicate and enable the default 'Example Daily config Change Report' job. There is an option in there to compare previous day's config, and further option to notify you only if changes were detected.

simply start creating a new regional map in network atlas, and then drag your smaller site maps (as opposed to dragging the Orion objects such as nodes, interfaces, etc) into the regional map. the map objects are listed on the object selection menu of Network Atlas (above 'Orion objects')
-
follow the instructions in the admin guide to 'park' the license and activate it on the new server. It is a self-service process. Export the node list from the Manage > Nodes settings page and create a new network discovery on the new server using the list of exported IPs in 'specific nodes' option. There is no real need…

It is best turn off at the source via group policy. See guidelines in the KB below SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Audit Policy and Best Practice

There is no out of the box integration between Kiwi Syslog and Dropbox. You can define Kiwi rules to create a separate log per day. Is there a Dropbox utility to move files from the Kiwi syslog server's filesystem to Dropbox?
-
If you are using WebHelpDesk as your ticketing system, this level of integration is automatic. The node details like site, address, etc would have to maintained as custom properties that you can include in the alert actions using alert variables. You can view screenshots and understand the process in the link below Web…

BUILD, Rules, drag the failedauthentication event, specify the event count and the sliding time frame. Use the tiny icon next to the time frame to bring up the advanced options editor and drag the sourcemachine field. You can leave the time window drop down as the default of 5 minutes. You can refer to the new evaluation…

Which version of SAM? Have you already applied HotFix6? This issue is not specifically mentioned in the read me for HF6 but it addresses a number of issues and I would highly recommend you apply HF6 if you haven't already

Your alert definition looks correct. In the Trigger condition tab of the alert editor, change the drop down from 'Custom Node Poller' to 'Custom SQL Alert'. This will show you the SQL query that would be used for to evaluate this alert. Copy the query from the top (gray non-editable portion) and the bottom (starting with…

Not at the moment. Not sure if NPM v12 will cover that NPM 12.0 Beta1 Now Available If these are VMs, Virtualization Manager can do that for you
-
the interfaces also need to be group members. You can add in all interfaces pertaining to your nodes using dynamic queries. You can see that option when you edit the group to add/remove objects

[Disclaimer: I haven't read all the responses carefully but a quick glance doesn't look you are on the right track] 1havox, You are dealing with 2 separate things here - SNMP Traps and SNMP polling. Once you configure your SNMP Trap destination on your device, you can launch the Trap Viewer utility on the SolarWinds…

SRM Profiler does support it provided the EVA is managed by Command View EVA

Is your query definition looking for an exact match or a partial match of the location field?
-
Do you mean Data Domain? It's an open feature request for which you may want to add your vote If you have NPM, you should be able to do build some custom pollers using Universal Device Poller since Data domain does expose some data via SNMP
-
Is the intention to catch disk issues beyond what is already flagged by SAM's hardware health monitoring capability for physical servers?
-
Unfortunately, not. Your requirement is the same as what was brought up here Create SAM group based on NPM custom properties The open feature request for this is
