  • I recommend contacting Support at www.solarwinds.com/support for assistance with locating your Orion DB username and password.
  • Currently, the subject line within the Real-Time Config Change Detection feature does not execute macros/variables. This is a great feature request for a future release of Cirrus.
  • Numerous machine type descriptions were updated in the Cirrus v4.0 release. I recommend upgrading to this release.
  • It would be quite helpful if you could post or email the Session Trace.
  • Are you able to disable "Node Monitoring" as soon as the application is opened by clicking on the lightening bolt icon? Also, I recommend opening a case with support at https://forms.netsuite.com/app/site/crm/externalcasepage.nl?compid=638609&formid=12&h=3d0552f20b2e9bd6580b.
  • Recommending that users experiencing high discards and errors search the forum for a resolution is a great suggestion. I also want to open this up to suggestions or issues around high discards or errors on Cisco switches that have not yet been posted in this forum.
  • The Cirrus v4 release which is scheduled to release in the next few weeks includes a new report titled Backup Status of Running Config. This report includes the date of the latest running configuration within Cirrus. You will be able to setup a job to export this on a scheduled basis. This report should enable you to…
  • Have you performed an inventory on the newly added devices? You can highlight the desired devices, right-click, and select Inventory Selected Nodes to perform an inventory. This will poll the devices for the needed SNMP details. You can also schedule an Inventory job that will run on an automated basis to ensure your…
  • Just curious, what are the 40-50 jobs you are creating in Cirrus? You can save time with the setting up the email settings by saving your default email settings to File > Settings > Notification Defaults. When you create a new job, under the notifications tab, simply check the box for "E-mail results" and the settings you…
  • Esteban, Welcome to Thwack!! You can drag a text config into Cirrus. It is a feature that we probably should make more apparent. In order to import a config, you will need to perform the steps below: * Highlight the desired device in Cirrus. * Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the text file. * Select the text file and…
  • Currently, there is not a de-select all option in the Application and Service ports view ; however, this option should be available in the next release. As far as the service ports not properly remaining unchecked after de-selecting them, we have not seen this issue before. I recommend opening a case with support at…
  • You can modify the time that Cirrus waits for a response for telnet/ssh communication by modifying the Telnet Prompt Timeout value under the File > Settings > Network.
  • Can you please elaborate on where you are seeing timeout issues within NetFlow Traffic Analyzer?
  • There are a couple of options for migrating your Cirrus Access database to SQL 2005 Express. One option is to use Microsoft's SQL Server Migration Assistant for Access, http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=D842F8B4-C914-4AC7-B2F3-D25FFF4E24FB&displaylang=en, which is most likely the tool recommended by…
  • You can send Config Change Detection emails to different users by performing the steps below: * Set up a new custom property under File > Settings > Custom Properties (for example, ChangeEmailAddress) * Highlight the desired devices in the node list. * Right-click and select Edit Multiple Nodes. FYI, you can right-click on…
  • Two options that come to mind are as follows: 1. Import the config file into each device's config list by selecting each device and dragging the text file into the node/config list. Then click on Configs->Baseline Entire Network to mark the imported files as baseline configs. 2. Create a policy report that represents the…
  • I recommend opening a case with our support team at https://forms.netsuite.com/app/site/crm/externalcasepage.nl?compid=638609&formid=12&h=3d0552f20b2e9bd6580b. They should be able to help identify and resolve the issue.
  • I recommend adjusting the "Simultaneous Downloads/Uploads" and the "SNMP config transfer timeout" values under File->Settings->Configs->Config Transfers. If this does not resolve the issue, please let me know.
  • I recommend creating a support ticket at https://forms.netsuite.com/app/site/crm/externalcasepage.nl?compid=638609&formid=12&h=3d0552f20b2e9bd6580b. Support should be able to assist you in modifying/creating device command templates. Please also specify that you spoke with Haley within the Thwack forum.
  • I recommend opening a support case at www.solarwinds.com/support and ensure to include the Orion diagnostics, which can be created by executing SolarwindsDiagnostics.exe at C:\Program Files\Solarwinds\Orion.
  • As long as the firewall is added as a device within Cirrus, the ARP table information should be pulled from the firewall when determining device connectivity within the Find IP/Find MAC tool.
  • I recommend double-checking the AD accounts set up in Cirrus v4 under File > Manage Cirrus Users to see if your AD account is listed. If the account is listed, then Cirrus is using pass-through AD authentication to log you in and bypass the login screen.
  • No username is required for Cirrus to login to the device. You simply leave the username field blank and Cirrus will not try to pass a username. A session trace would be quite useful in troubleshooting the issue. I recommend creating a ticket at…

  • One way to export your list of devices is to run the All Nodes Report and then export the report to Excel. You can also customize the All Nodes Report to include additional fields if needed.
  • I recommend opening a case with support at https://forms.netsuite.com/app/site/crm/externalcasepage.nl?compid=638609&formid=12&h=3d0552f20b2e9bd6580b and provide the following information: 1. Enable session tracing by going to File->Settings->Session Trace and check the checkbox. Then right-click on the device and select…
  • Can you please send us the diagnostics file? This should help development isolate the issue. Please also answer the questions below. * Have you added any additional sites lately or reconfigured your call path setup? * What is value reported under Settings > Network Test Interval? * How many VoIP sites are you managing? *…
  • I recommend double-clicking on one of the devices whose config backup via TFTP is failing and selecting Actions > Valid SNMP Credentials. If the SNMP R/W Community verification fails, then it looks like the read-write community string is no longer valid.
  • Great feature request! We will defnitely consider this one for a future release :)
  • Each year, SolarWinds has released a major product release, as well as, a minor release or two of Cirrus Configuration Manager. This year will fall right in line. This year, we have already released two minor releases, and are currently finalizing plans for the next major release, which is scheduled to release later…
  • My recommendation is to modify the opening text to not contain ">". When Cirrus sees a ">" character, Cirrus thinks that the user is logged in and therefore passes the next credentials which for this device is the enable level.
