Second poller goes to the same database, so no help there. Second poller must be a separate box. For NetFlow, you could get a small Orion + NetFlow (e.g. SL100) for less than an additional poller and restrict it to those 10-12 nodes. We are working on a new product that will allow you to view data from mutliple Orion…

Has database maintenance run since you deleted the module? That's when the interfaces should be cleaned up.
-
Are you running version 5.7? We know there was an issue with restrictreports at least in version 5.6 that may cause this behavior.

The DOS prompt will need inverted commas NET STOP "SolarWinds TFTP Server" :-)
-
Have you checked to see if the service is running? In my case I manually start it and it stops on it's own I'm going open a case to see if support will help with my issue, but I won't hold by breath because it's a free product

Is that 10 concurrent max per NCM? or Per job? I want to know if multiple jobs can be launched simultaneously? Using the discussion above for example.. 5 Jobs x 10 devices each = 50 simultaneous firmware upgrades? Are there limitations?

I have the same issue with the event log forwarder, I have it running on w2k8r2 and w2k12r2 servers.

Hi Ashley, You can use the Windows PowerShell Monitor component and call the Active Directory Search-ADAccount cmlet. I pasted the script below but this is for checking SA accounts that are locked out. I think you'll want to actually use the -AccountExpired parameter and the SA account's Distinguished Name (DN). You will…

That's not so bad until you start messing with the new retarded interface. If you wanted to infuriate me you succeeded. I don't want to run Microsoft Solarwinds 2007 with the stupid gadgets or widgets. I want something simple, clean and intutive that works. Not cludgey, convoluted and counter productive. OK. We get that…

Perphaps this has happened because one of the requirements in NPM 11.5.2 is that SQL database must go on a different server from NPM install.
-
Nevermind. I applied hotfix 1 and that fixed it. However, I will point out that my website was running on standard port 80 and was still affected even though the readme says that it only affects sites running on non-standard ports. My site was however separate from the IIS default site, and is running on an additional IP…

Top Talker more than 50% utilization for 10 min during the work day. That would tell you something is going on and could be impacting your network.

One that we utilize is "Windows Node Rebooted" Sometimes with our Hyper-V virtual servers, they can reboot before the 120 sec polling time and we never know they restarted. I accomplished this by creating an Advanced Alert that triggers on "Vendor equals Windows" and "LastBootTime Changed" I have an email setup to our…

Can you give us a screenshot of the processes you are trying to monitor?
-
Are you getting alerts, or is this showing up in your resources on the web console? In the first case, you should go to the Alert manager to check the settings on the alert. In the second case, go to the Admin section of the web console, and check NPM settings.

What you want to do is not possible. Something we've thinking about is the ability to associate an Application Details view with a specific template so that you'd always see a specific view when you clicked down to a specific application. Would that work for what you're trying to accomplish?
-
Yes, it's on my list of features, but I don't have a date yet.

From the release notes:quote:When using Windows Pass-Thru Security, the Home View is always Netflow Traffic Analysis Summary. A fix of this issue is now available. For more information, please contact SolarWinds Technical Support. http://www.solarwinds.net/support/Netflow/docs/ReleaseNotes/releaseNotes.htm Thanks, Olan

Logs reported in that part of diskusage is direct syslog messages sent, so it won't account for what's actually stored in the LEM database (i.e. all the other stuff sent from agents and indirect logging). The archive that Pradeep refers to is the actual database storage, so that would tell you what your true event storage…

Any update on Xen monitoring. I'm looking for something for v5.6 if possible. thanks jase
-
it has to do with the way microsoft creates these virtual interfaces. they are given a different uuid everytime the system boots and therefore seen as a new interface by NPM. So you are not alone with htis issue. I also see them daily on the scans.

One more hand up for Xenserver monitoring..... Regards, Dan

Packet loss should be %.

Organizing templates is hard. Instead of folders, we're adding tags in the next version. It should give you everything that folders would, but a lot more.
-
Great request. I absolutely agree. While at it, fix the spelling of "Oprhaned IP Addresses" tab.
-
The popups are not customizable at this time. Good feature request.

Device templates are very simple to modify, have you attempted this yet and enabled session tracing?
-
Yes, there are plans, but not until after Orion 9.0.

... and sometimes this happens "just because..." I routinely have problems with our maps displaying on the summary page in 8.5.1 SP3 and the user permissions haven't changed. I either have to run the Configuration Manager or reboot the server to clear the problem. I was told that this was fixed in version 9.... I was…

You can customize the page to have different resources, but there's no way to edit the resources themselves. Well, if you want to write some ASP.NET code, you could build your own resource, but that's a taller order.
