These files are templates for storing configuration files, they are not for running scripts. I would suggest you read the administrators guide on how to run scripts on devices and then post here if you have further questions.

Do you have agents on the workstation? Interactive logons are only logged locally, not at the domain level. All you'll see at the domain are the network logons. My guess is the auth package ones are via something like Exchange, something that's separate from domain auth or connections to file shares/servers.

I think you should look at APM. It can poll WMI performance counters, which should include most (maybe all) of what you're looking to monitor.

There currently isn't - the best thing you could do is forward your devices to an intermediary syslog server then forward that to LEM and your secondary host.

I am not sure how many nodes you are attempting to discover, but if the list is short enough you may just want to add the nodes manually and at that time you can select the interfaces you want to monitor. This should prevent the nodes\interfaces from exceeding the license.
