We are actively working on new functionality. I can't give a timeframe.

Have you installed NPM 9.1 SP3? Have you re-run the configuration wizard? If you *have* done these things, then please open a Support ticket so that we can help figure out the problem.

ok finally finished this. it's quite lengthy but here's how i did it: 1. logged on to the server and went to network atlas. made a new map using background image. pasted an image of the excel file 2. In solarwinds went to settings - manage views. Add new, type is summary 3. In column one, added a map (network maps - map).…

Hi All, I'm experiencing this issue as well. I have tried in both Chrome and Firefox. the letters/numbers next to the download are [a:06]. I have been waiting for about 20 minutes in either browser with no success except for the progress bar continuing to move. Any help would be great. Thanks RW

Hey Michael, can you tell me which letters you have next to the green "Free Trial" button (e.g. a:a, a:b, etc)?

So, I'm struggling to find out what I'm required to do. Is there a way to produce one report for all the servers within Solarwinds and have it send me an email with all the CPU/Memory/HDD usage? Its quite hard to work out how to use this system I think.

There were some issues with advanced alerts in v8.0.x, but those have been largely fixed in 8.1. If you're upgrading from 7.x, be sure you are not on a Windows 2000 server. 8.1 will only run on Windows 2003. Our installer will block Windows 2000 when upgrading from 8.0, but it doesn't always block when upgrading from 7.x.
-
This is usually an indicator that the AD Connector had trouble communicating with the configured server. Check for SolarWinds alerts (start with the word Internal) to see if the errors are continuing. Are you able to see groups and their members in Build > Groups at this point?
-
Does your device support the 802dot11 MIB? If not, our module can't monitor it. If you're not sure, a mib walk will tell you.

Hi cwohechler, You should check this doc on how to perform DHCP Split Scope http://web.swcdn.net/creative/pdf/techtips/How_to_Perform_DHCP_Split_Scope_using_SolarWinds_IPAM.pdf Also, the Library & Support page for IPAM might be useful: IP Address Manager (IPAM) - Updated December 12, 2014

Got this error while running the Configuration Wizard after a v9 upgrade with SP1. Error while executing script- 'PK_CustomPollerStatistics_Detail' is not a constraint. The Wizard doesn't show any activity for a long time after this and I'm forced to click exit it. Orion works after this, but my custom pollers don't show…

I have not upgraded from 8.5.1 SP3 yet. Does the V9.0 installer include Sp1 yet ? Thanks, Doug

sorry Jeryn, but no. the only option that we came up with was to write a fornt end application that basically updated custom properties of nodes. we have lots of them, and some of them define whether an alert is triggered for a node etc (one for volumes, one for nodes, one for cpu etc), then we set ti to diabled for a…

well, the scripts work a treat, i have schedule tasks that add weekly windows for a whole whack of devices. Of course, the problem is now that i can black out 2 hours when the dev ices go up and down and all around, but then when the blackout window ends, i get 30 "device rebooted" alerts. i understand why i get them, as…

I have to say that the juxtaposition of your user handle and your obvious (and admirable) love of donuts is a little off-putting appetite-wise. Still, I have a suggestion that might help. You can set a node to managed/unmanage by using SQL script to update the field in the database. You can then use the Windows Task…

Please disregard my last comment I just found the node in both areas and still having issues pulling up NCM Properties on a node. I will run a discovery tomorrow and hope this fixes issue.

WOW - I wish I would have seen this before I purchased .... I have 2392 addresses I need to monitor so naturally I recommended and purchased a 4000 license. I don't even have 2/3 of the addresses in yet and the counter is over 3700 (including network and broadcast). Has anyone come up with an SQL script to remove the…

Not at this time.

I've tried creating a new rule to check the config, however, I cannot seem to get the rule to work when I run it against some modified code:

There are plans to provide a broader failover solution for NPM and all of the modules. I can't comment on timing yet.
-
Leon, completely agree with you. I needed a quick and dirty solution to accomplish this and this worked. I realize the potential impact using SQL versus SWQL and schema changes but I figured I would adjust if it becomes a problem. But, user be ware....

I am actually doing this using a SQL Server Agent job. I created a custom property called "OnCall" and the SQL job runs every Friday at 6 AM, reads the contents of a CSV file, populates the CP for the Orion server. I then created a custom query resource to read the OnCall value and display on a page.

still a bug and no fix so far. I tried different workarounds like editing the "Request type" then saving this and it still did not work.

No, you must send netflow records to NTA. You will need to use a probe that will convert what it sees at the span port into Netflow records that it sends to NTA. There are plenty of such devices on the market. Might want to start with Nprobe. www.ntop.org/nProbe.html

I'll see if I can do this justice by typeing it...I've gotten nested conditions to work fairly well. Trigger Alert when ALL of the following apply: Node Stautus is equal to Down Trigger Alert when ANY of the following apply: NodeType is equal to Cisco_VPN NodeType is equal to Nortel_VPN (NodeType is a custom propery I…

You need to download our Windows Event Forwarder. You install that on the target windows servers, and it turns the event logs into syslog. You can then create alerts based on event IDs.
