I have the same issue, whether adding a new node or just trying to 'list resources' on existing nodes the screen will hang and never complete. I installed the hotfix but the issue did not get resolved. Does anyone know of any other steps I can try (hopefully avoiding another restart of my pollers if possible)? I am…

If you use a different action, like "Send Email", do you get one or two?

Are you saying it's telling you that you don't have .Net installed? If so, please contact Support to get this resolved. Just FYI: support contacted: Jacob, I have opened ticket # 9071 with our Development Team to look at the x86 and Windows Event Forwarder issue. This is something they will look into in the future and…

That was it Andrew. We weren't monitoring the nic. Looking good now. Thanks!

If you don't have NTA, AppMon, or Wireless Monitor and you're still seeing this problem, please contact Support to try and resolve this.

Hi Mark, I tried every single step mentioned in "http://www.solarwinds.com/support/orion/docs/gaps/gaps.htm" however still have these stubborn gaps. I would happily take any advice to help get past this problem. Support pretty much has me repeating the same steps, then disappears for a few days then asks me to repeat the…

It should do what you want it to do. Sweet. Thanks Denny!

Thanks Mark, I went through every step listed in the walkthrough, and made any and every change that showed different values. That included decreasing polling to 7 minutes (which is very unfortunate) each poller has between 6 and 7 thousand elements. So far it looks the same.

Oh OK, that makes sense. Thank you.

I opened a case this AM. Do you have anymore insight on proper SQL memory recommendations or links to proper sizing sites? I have a feeling our SQL server might be under powered.

Ah - two options - * You'd need to connect to their AD to pull in that info (LEM can connect to multiple domains, but you have to be able to connect to a DC, which is kind of a bummer if it's over a WAN ) * You could build the groups manually if you know the names of their admin accounts, but you have to maintain them as…

Hi, This is something that's annoyed and plagued us for ages. I'm looking at a linux box now and the CPU and Memory stats show 322mb used, 751mb available but then the volume info shows Physical memory 964mb used. I was told once that the Memory statistics area was more about the amount of memory the running processes were…

Agreed, we test for SNMP failing separately as there can be a number of reasons why its failing (most common being a changed community string etc). ICMP and Orion's aggressive polling during initial ping fail has been more than enough for us. Andy.

This is an old question, but I was able to figure out a Transform for this in case someone runs across the question again. Create a Transform and use this formula: truncate(({POLLERNAME}/columnsum( {POLLERNAME}))*100,0) The truncate just gives me the amount rounded to the nears whole number. "Pollername" is simple the…

best thing I can say here then is to get a toolset and walk the mib yourself and see if you can find it. CISCO wants you to use their craptastic monitoring platform so probably will not give you much info on how to access the MIBs. there is ususally more information than anyone wants to know when you walk the mibs on a…

just have an icon for the underlying map that will indicate the status of the sub-map. so your main map will be a bunch of dots or icons that you choose and then link the map for the site to each of the dots/icons. main map has 3 icons site 1 site 2 site 3 then you build a sub-map for each of these and link the sub-map to…

Are you asking to see 1-minute intervals on the graphs on the web?

No issues. Went smooth as pie.

I agree with you, as long as this is an option on top of the way the conditions are currently defined. If it had to be a choice between "check-to-select" and the existing method used in defining conditions, I have to vote for the current method. It allows me to take advantage of the standard naming scheme we use for…

What browser are you using?

I think what you want to do will require a new features. It's something I've heard from a number of users and plan to add to a future version.

I have had this argument with support ever since we bought the product over a year ago and they have consistently told me that they won't 'fix' the problem as it is behaving 'as designed'. They have told me the radial dial is calculated by counting the total memory used for each process which can be different to the…

I think (although correct me if I'm wrong) we're talking about two things. In 8.5, we had removed something that was in 8.1. We put that back. There is a separate issue that Basic Alerts can do something that Advanced Alerts cannot do. That's been true since 8.0.

Adding NCM to EOC is now definitely on the roadmap. In fact, that's the feature we are working on now.

I know how to add Custom Properties to an existing (and/or, I assume, a newly created) node, but what about HardwareHealthInfos fields? Is it possible to add values to those fields via the [REST] SDK ? Thanks, Scott

I overlooked the fact that after plink.exe was called it opened a box on the server that asked for a fingerprint for SSH. I needed to reply to this message with Yes. After I did this, access was granted and the metric was up again. So problem is solved.

Ok, great! Now, I've noticed the following in the document (Orion SDK); "IPAddressGUID [is a] Node’s IP address encoded in [a] GUID value" Umm, ok. Seems a tad odd, but ok. The only problem is that I have no idea how to do this encoding. And what's more frustrating is that I'd SWEAR I've seen it discussed .. somewhere, but…

Disable all Advanced Alerts is on the roadmap for a future release.

Yes, all of them. One in particular being that running tasks don't send out emails after running. It can create a ticket, but cannot send the email afterwards. Gives the error every time. But again, all of them.
