Aha! It gets better! I’d initially selected “Interface Details” for Type of View. After deleting the whole View (because you can’t edit the Type of View field – that’s another irritation for another day…) and recreating the whole thing with “Summary” Type of View and it looks perfect!! Thank you! The View now is exactly as…

I just open a case at SW. Ticket # is 295511

Yes... They can't be deleted. Is there any software that copies those higher numbering schema to the lower numbers? And then we could erase them

Done.

Thanks Chris. The notes appear to be corrected. Still curious why we didn't receive an announcement from SolarWinds though?

I agree I wish there was a way to have second copy of all my Solarwinds running so we could test out the changes. I some of the same issues a couple months ago when we upgraded to APM ALX. One suggestion for testing before upgrading in production is to copy your production database to a test database. Upgrade the test…

No, don't make any manual changes to the nodeid's in either database. I am not sure if that what you meant but it would wreak havoc on your systesm if you do. Orion and NCM would NOT be happy. When I was looking at this I noticed that the nodeid's in both tables did not match so that is why I did the join on the 2 tables…

Hi The below SQL query is where my Serial Number data is stored in the NCM database SELECT ncm.SysName, ncme.Serial FROM solarwinds_ncm..Nodes ncm, solarwinds_ncm..Entity_Physical ncme WHERE ncm.NodeID = ncme.NodeID AND ncme.Serial != '' AND ncme.Position = '-1' So I want to be able to copy this from here to the NPM Custom…

What about Network Atlas for the 9.5 version? How does this apply to linking a URL weather map page? I get the following error: "No image could be found at the specified location."

Licence has been expired and i am not going to renew it due to some reasons. Is this possible that we manually update the standby server along with the primary server and at the time of filure we assign the primary's IP to the standby server and it starts working as primary server???

i tried it with "Send PopUp" and the rule fires successfully; what I observerd is, having "1 in 40 sec" and the successfull "snmp action", I see "null [], null[] " as the value in the "ExtraneaousInfo" field, whereas for the "send popup" there is detailed information about the receiver IP, the popup text, the receiver ID

Good conversation! Ok, Richard, how does putting the bandwidth statement in the tunnel interface definition help?
-
Dev looked at your post. They said they would need diagnostics to move forward.

It's not in v9.5, but it's a known feature request.

I guess it depends on your network infrastructure. We love this alert and use it all the time. My wireless administrator used to have to walk around the building once a week scanning for rogue access points. Now, with this alert, he doesn't have to and we are notified immediatly instead of waiting. He logs into our…

Well the guy retracted his statement and said that SAM 5.5 and later is compatible with SQL Server 2012. And they didn't tell me how to do it, just that it was possible. The link they sent me for it is here. http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/Orion/docs/SolarWindsPortRequirements.pdf I have yet to read it for valuable…

Plain text to make it easier to read on my BB.

We don't have a script we can share, but other members may have something. When it's unmanaged, you don't monitor.
-
For each node or interface, there's a field that indicates whether it's unmanaged or not. If your script sets it to unmanaged on a schedule (with a time period), you can use Windows Task Scheduler to run the script.
-
sounds like you have a great solution Brad... do you have it shared for us progamming novices to try out? have your guys modified it to work with 9.1? Thanks also Denny, I will have a play with those scripts... they would do the job, even if it is a little clunky. What are your thoughts from a Solarwinds point of view to…

Thanks for the quick reply. Tools are installed. Mode is also set to Local. I have also discovered that I probably need to change the setting "Platform to run polling job on:" under advanced from 32 bit to 64. I have entered a database name in the arguments. The error I receive now is: Testing on node MBX-1.domain.co.uk:…

This is the best kind of post, where I can turn disappointment into satisfaction with a few words. That's not how it usually goes. I have opened tickets to get those templates built. We missed those.

Can you explain further what is happening? Only 13 addresses are showing at a time? Peter, Here is a snapshot of the Network View. I miscounted. Only 12 networks are shown at a time in the panel. I would like to see the capability to configure both the left and right panels as to the number of rows/networks displayed in…

Ok, I've tried it a couple different way and I still can't get a response. I'm using a broader query just to see if I can get some type of response. Here's what I've tried: POST to https://solarwinds_server/SolarWinds/InformationService/v3/Json/Query With a body of: {"query":"SELECT NodeID,CoreNodeID FROM Cirrus.Nodes"}…

TCP/514 on LEM is for syslog, not for rlogin/rsh. That port is commonly used for rlogin/rsh and chances are your scan is only looking up a 'registered ports' list, not detecting what actual service is listening. I'll check on whether we've had any issues with TCP syslog, though, and let you know.

When I upgraded to 9.5.1 this morning I lost my node properties through the web. When I edit a node under Node Management I see the node name, IP, SNMP info and Polling but no Node Properties. I verified this against a 9.5 SP4 server that I had not upgraded and it still had properties. I then ran the Config Wizard (which…

Sorry again, just realized how horribly that output was formatted when I cut and paste it. Here it is again in all it's readable glory! 24 Jun 2011 09:50:29 - WBEMClientWrapper.closeWBEMClientConnection(6): closed wbemclient connection for namespace-->root/eva 24 Jun 2011 09:50:29 -…

Still on the list. Not in 9.0.
