i am embarrassed now.... i think it is magic, but you might think it is stone-age LOL....i will try and put a wee guide together on what i have done and see if it is any use to you.. essentially i am able to put priorities to each different type of alert to each different node (i.e. CPU util on node 1 is priority 1 but on…

I found it, thanks! My problem is trying to get it set for an external website (not one of our websites). Is that even possible?
-
Right on, I appreciate everything.

We are still at 3.5 (NPM 10.0 SP1) but we plan to install 3.5.1 in the morning. I'll let you know how it goes.

Is there a way to have SolarWinds recognize the VMware ESX 3.x host as something other than "net-snmp Linux"? In NPM 9.0, it should recognition it as VMware.
-
The problem on the web is that the reports hit a web timeout that isn't there with RW. We haven't directly worked on this section in 9.x.
-
OK. I'll follow up.

I have ran the permission checker and the configuration manager to see if there was a fix that needed ran.

Thanks to both of your for your replies! It appears that the 'GRANT CONNECT ANY DATABASE TO [xxx]' syntax will only be useful if the monitored instance is SQL Server 2014 or above (since it was introduced with that version). I found some information that claimed 'GRANT VIEW ANY DEFINITION TO [xxx]' would work for previous…

using v2c on my network. Luckily have not had a need to start using v3
-
Very thanks.
-
Looks like 4.0.
-
Why limit the amount of columns to 3 anyway? ...because we hate the number 4?
-
Yeah, the final release build will be on everyone's portal within days, and the RC download is available on the portal now.

Case #56745 created Thanks!

by its very nature, it's a less usable interface overall. Can you elaborate? Other than speed (which as Brandon said, we've addressed in SP4), what's less usable?

Regarding real-time data, after LEM reads in the logs it stores a copy of the data in its own database for future reporting & searching. To search that data, it doesn't have to reach back out to Kiwi, it just uses the local copy. Once the data is read in, it's fine for Kiwi to rotate the logs, because we've already copied…

1.) Runs at 2:30 AM Nightly, All Nodes, Show Changes Made Over The Last 1 Days, emails the report. 2.) Just tried running it manually “test job” instead of as a scheduled task, no difference 3.) I run the nightly backup at 2:00 AM and this one at 2:30 AM, the backup job takes an average of about 3.5min so it is definitely…

We have netcool integrated with BMC Remedy to create tickets off the netcool events. How can netcool parse the syslog messages from Solarwinds? Do you have a MIB rule file available? We don't have a MIB rule file. This integration is something we've seen from other customers, but they typically send the syslog directly to…

I don't have a report with that information because I ended up automating a fix for this issue. We have the SQL I posted previously for a report still, just to check if our job is running. However, nightly we have the below SQL running this to delete the offending rows. This was fairly simple since I relalized the volumes…

I had the same setup previously. The host destination server's IP address for Netflow should point to the VM's IP address and port. Of course, if there is a firewall in between the device and the server, it'll have to grant access appropriately from device to VM as well.
-
Thanks for the advice and input, I'll try the Syslog Generator and see if that helps.

IP Address Groups have been available since NTA 1.0. Go into NTA settings and you can define them.

adatole, you deserve a special badge for this!

8.5 is very near completion, but we haven't announced the exact date yet. We are working on the 100% CPU issue, and it might be in 8.5, but it might also be a hotfix on top of 8.5.

I just upgraded from 9.1 SP5 to 9.5.1 on Friday (the 28th) and just started receiving these errors on Saturday (May 1st) at the same time our scheduled reports for the previous month were to begin running.

SolarWinds, when you try to create a custom SQL trigger, automatically populates the box with it's Select statement. How would I go about joining tables and such?
-
Hi there thanks for the idea, it is worth a shot. The problem is, i just don’t think this will help raw performance, where the system will still be writing the performance data to the database, which is where the performance hit is actually being caused.... what i want, is to be able to stop APM/NPM writing all this DATA…

you hit the nail right on the head there... removing the custom property editor would be a disaster, but it is available as an app directly from the solarwinds program group, so i would expect it would remain a non-imported tool. i use it like you in that i have to copy one above to make sure i have it formatted right, and…

this looks like the release candidate. Is there going to be a production release, and will it be included in the maintenance agreements?
