I can not open that fix..Did the link change? I am having the same issue

At this point you might want to open a Support ticket. We'll probably need more detailed information than you can reasonably provide on an open Forum.

NetFlow - no question is the issue. You can have a hefty poller, but NetFlow I/O requirements will almost triple that base hardware. If your DB isn't a "dedicated-to-solarwinds" server that is a quad core, 16GB, 15k RAID 1+0 spindles or a multi-GB fiber channel - the server will not keep up. Interesting that Managed…

Hi You are preaching to the converted on that point as I agree with you 100%, but I have found that in certain cases you have to sort your own requirements out in the interm until these types of requests get added. Raise an enhancement request and I will add my vote if that means anything ;-) I think a ehnacmnent request…

by the way, did you consider putting a quick custom HTML resource below the chart that was just TEXT and it stated which row-ID means which CoS label and what the CoS configured bandwidth is...

although i am pleased it is now free for the solarwinds community at large, i feel royally ripped off being that in the last 6 months i bought 2 APM additional poller licenses, and previous to that i bought 2 more, so i have purchased 4 in total. I would have appreciated a direct email from solarwinds updating me on this…

No, seriously, I'm not allowed to say. Soon.

For the past week I've been exiting the Orion system managered when I've been finshed with it. I used to just minimize it. It's been better this week. I easiest way to…

It would appear that this bug has returned in 10.2.1 NPM. Not sure why an NPM upgrade would cause a difference in Netflow but.... I just upgraded two days ago and yesterday started noticing a bunch uf unmonitored traffic again. Upon further analysis it is indeed ESP once again. Any idea on what I can do? Just downgrade…

Thanks for the reply Steve. I got the variations config figured out. I had to add a variations file in the variations directory (no tab exists like in that help document for v3.5). Good news is that got me past the login problem. Now when I try to run the device backup, I get this output: This is what I get in the debug…

What most users do is to build views that include both APM and NPM data.
-
As Josh said, the problem was fixed in SP2 of APM 1.0. We're about to release SP2 of APM 2.0, so if you're still on APM 1.0, we recommend that you upgrade.
-
If you like Nagios plug-ins, don't forget that APM has an open source processor script (which you can find in the APM folder on the Orion server) that will run Nagios scripts and convert the data to APM's format. See the Admin Guide for details.

Custom property editor would be fine. I just don't see an obvious way to change the name...

I changed it to robert.a. Is it ok?

I was thinking more along the lines of polls and alerts for metrics like how many messages are in my Exchange queues, and metrics that might indicate issues with AD replication between my DC's. That's coming in the next version of APM.

True. It is technically possible to create a "stack" of LEM appliances for different roles, so flow could be one of those roles, if the use cases matured. The other honest side to that coin is that after deploying the top talkers functionality, we didn't see a lot of customers who were at the point where they were ready to…
-
Hi! No, unfortunately the report was pretty useless to be honest. There was no easy way of doing it out of the box. What I am going to do (going forward) is create a new custom property and add just the interfaces I am interested in.
-
I'm going to dump the server and talk to our server support group. I know they wanted to move my VM to a new host so I want to see if that actually occurred yet before opening a ticket.
-
Let me ask this: If Orion and EOC were to both have AD authentication using AD groups, would that solve the problem? You would be able to add an AD or Windows Server group such as OrionUsers to both, and then authentication would be handled by Windows and AD. I think Tghosh would still be stuck, but would anyone else still…

Upgrading to 8.1 fixes this issue of a single line chart.

There is no hotfix "5a". If you read the message above closely, that's a name the poster gave to the hotfix. There is only hotfix 5.

I think you'll need need to write a SQL statement. I'm not a SQL guy. Can anyone in the community offer any advice?

you best bet will be to create logical splits across your network at points where the network obviously splits. In some enterprises, this is when the network crosses buildings, or WAN links to diferent areas. One you do that, you create another custom property for SITE, then you will reference that SITE field in the…

Not sure on SP2. Is there a particular issue that you are waiting on?

That is not any kind of option I see when I configure Discovery. How do I get to that? When I go in to configure Discovery, my window essentially looks the same, and when I go through each option, I never see that...

make sure something else isn't using the syslog port on your server. I'm not sure if the syslog service throws any errors when it starts if another application is using the port.

This suppression was working fine and was a neccessity for our 1000 remote sites. WINNT, Most of this thread is talking about the Advanced Alert Engine, but if you were given one-off code several years ago, then it must have been for the Basic Alert engine, correct? I will look into it, but I need to be sure we are talking…

Good information. Sounds like your seeing the same thing I am.. I will send this to our VM guy to check Thanks!

The fundamental issue here is not so much from Layer 3 to Layer 3 monitoring which is fairly straight forward. But the Layer 2 monitoring. Each individual piece of euipment between Orion and the end device being monitored needs to be known and monitored by Orion. Core routers with multiple subnets attached to them would…
