Dan, I re-read the whole thread, and think we've meandered away from your original question. The architecture you proposed won't work for the reasons I specified above. Are there other questions that are still unanswered?

Awesome, thanks!

On a minor point alluded to earlier I presume that there is no getting around the fact that in order to use perl scripts from within APM that it has to be invoked by WScript? Nothing new since your previous exchanges on perl with Josh C.

Thanks, your info helped a lot. I tested it out by creating some cabinets using Sketchup and then pasting on the Dell Rack Enclosure doors from images I found on Google. Sketchup lined it up for me. I'll do it again so it comes out smooth and crisp. See how the edges are all jagged? For the racks I plan to use LucidChart…

Don, Billing since the expiration date sounds simple, but there are a set of accounting rules associated with maintenance contracts that specify legally how revenue can be recognized and reported. If we did what you describe, our auditors would not be happy. If you're in an organization that follows the rules of a public…

Yes. We had a beta sign up on Thwack through most of May. A number of people participated. Unfortunately, it is now closed. However, even though you missed it, the management pack will ship in a few weeks. www.solarwinds.com/.../release.aspx

Any luck on the random error?

Thanks for the reply, marcos! I'm using AngularJS. I can get back all the information I need, but the issues I'm having are: * Getting Input type for Custom Fields * I had to set up a node proxy to and I believe that is keeping the session key authorization from working * Distinguishing between which custom fields need to…

I think we might have this one nailed down... hopefully you have the update in hand. There was a bug introduced when we addressed an issue for a customer with a non-standard logging config. We've separated these two issues and you should be able to use the newer version. We're also looking into what caused the two versions…

This kind of info should be in a sticky somewhere. (watch there be one)

This question was talked about a lot after the release of 9.5. It basically comes down to this... System Manager and Web Functionality are 2 seperate code trains and have to be managed as such. When a new feature would be added, it is likely it would have to be coded twice thus slowing down development. There are many…

I'm guessing you're not talking about the chart for "MIN/MAX RESPONSE TIME for a HTTPS in APM" that you mentioned in your originl post. No such "View Options" exist on these APM charts. Your right qle. I was referring to the Node Details & Interface Details charts in NPM. I posted to NPM forum in a similar thread in hopes…

Sorry, didn't mean to be rude. There are a lot of people who will read this thread, so I wanted to make sure no one walked away with the wrong idea about what we support. The Seamonkey/Firefox thing is weird, but it's always possible that work was done on Firefox to smooth out issues.

You ROCK! Works great, thanks Byron.

I don't know how to do what you're asking. I'm an experienced System Administrator, but a complete novice with this software. The Database manager comes up blank.

Well, never heard from the product manager. Finally got around to doing a upgrade to 9.5.1 on our Dev system and found out... NOPE, still not fixed. I don't get it! I don't understand SolarWinds logic behind fixing bugs, expecially ones like this one. They have acknowledged they broke RSSI reporting in 9.5 that worked in…

Certainly looks like it. Have you checked in the Admin section under Manage Report to see if they are in there? Also presume you are set-up as an administrator in Solawrinds. Any hints on release date at least? Soon Anything that was considered that DIDN'T make the cut? Many things are considered, but few are chosen. I'm not going to publish that list because my experience tells me that that's just asking for trouble. I can tell you that we capture ever feature request that's posted here (or…

I'm not a SQL guru either. But I know that there are folks out in the community whose SQL-fu is strong. Can we get a little love here?

Snaggletooth, Is there any reason you can't use the Host Seed File method? It runs the discovery engine, but it's limited to just those nodes that you list in a formatted text file. Would that not work?

I'm sorry I cannot be more help, maybe someone else will have a better idea.

Has anyone got an update on the Policy Reports for STIGs. I am too looking for this feature.

*bump*

Thanks for all the replies. Since almost every device I have has a 1GB link, I'm enabling 64bit counters everywhere. Seems like most devices that would be true on. But I too am curious what would happen if the device doesn't support 64bit. Seems like this should be on by default, and fail back to 32bit if it doesn't…

AM has been EOL'd (end of life). It will continue to work with Orion 9, but I do not expect it to work with any future versions. It would really help if you open a Support case. If you can poll something AM and not with APM that is a bug, and we need to know so that we can fix it. Thanks, Denny

I configured some 7k's and am trying to test backing them up. The client has "all nodes" selected for backup but the logs are riddled with failures. The DB is on a secondary server managed by a different team. I have direct access to the Orion server. I have enabled logging under NCM Settings->Advanced->Advanced Settings…

Currently running cirrus v4.0.1. I just downloaded v5. I will have to find a time to upgrade to v5. Thanks!

Have you tried to browse WMI on the hyper-v box? You can do this from within APM.

Same issue here. Any solution yet? Yesterday we moved our SQL DB to a dedicated server (before, it was located on the same host where SW Apps are, but we had performance issues so we decided to separate them). We moved the DB, used the Database Configuration Utility to connect to the new server and the Orion Website came…

I don't appreciate being told a feature I purchased and invested my time into is now being sunset and is not going to be supported. It would be a huge undertaking for me to migrate all of this application monitoring (which is working just fine for me) to the new APM solution. I would like to see this 'bug' fixed in…
