The Administrator Guide has a section on exporting reports, beginning on page 171: *** Orion Report Writer gives you the ability to present your created reports in a variety of different, industry-standard formats. The following formats (and extensions) are currently supported: •Comma-delimited (*.csv, *.cdf) •Text (*.txt)…

It certainly does, and in fact we recommend having SQL and Orion on separate boxes -- even a dedicated SQL box just for the Orion DB if you have a large installation. Check out the Requirements and Server Sizing sections of the Administrator Guide to see what's involved. Any time you need direct assistance that can't be…

As Denny mentions in this post, we have chosen to make significant improvements to Map Maker in Orion 9.5 rather than get involved in Google contract issues.

The Wireless Monitor is one of the modules for Orion NPM. You can see all kinds of information on the product page, including price, and there's a link to download an evaluation version so you can try it out in your own environment!

Make sure the NCM integration module is version 5.1, not 5.0. That's been a common thread in this issue.

The MapMaker tutorial on the Support page is a great resource and demonstrates several things you can do with your maps.

See Chapter 3 of the Administrator Guide (beginning on page 19). It says, in part: *** There are two ways to add nodes in Orion NPM, and the method recommended is largely determined by the number of devices you need to add. The Network Discovery tool is preferred If you need to add a large number of devices across your…

Our direction is to move most functionality to the web. As we add to the web console, we will start to remove functionality from System Manager because System Manager was written a long time ago when the options in code with limited user interface options. Contemporary web consoles offer far richer options, so that's where…

See this thread discussion on how to calculate how elements count towards your license. You'll be counting by element type, not total number of elements. So the short answer to the question is No, the interface and the utilization won't count twice. Look at your total number of elements by type, and work from that.

Try changing the value from Worst to Mixed. Worst shows the worst status of anything in the group, where Mixed shows that there are different status values in the group.

Try these steps: 1. Restart the database. 2. Run a repair. 3. Re-run the Configuration Wizard (which I think is what the "setup wizard" is referring to).

You can go directly from 8.5.1 to 9.5 SP1. As always, make backups of everything you can. If you plan to use the NCM Integration Module, you should also upgrade to NCM 5.5 at the same time. Note that NPM 9.5/NCM 5.5 do not support SQL 2000, but DO support both Windows 2008 and SQL Server 2008 as well as Windows 2003 and…

Please contact Customer Service (customerservice@solarwinds.com) to verify there has not been a provisioning error with your account.

If you want to select the nodes on which to run the script, complete the following procedure: a. Click Add Devices. b. Select the devices on which you want to run your command script. c. Click OK. 3. If you…

The page you get from this post should work for NCM, as well.

For the Orion NPM side of things, see the Quick Start Guide and the Administrator Guide (specifically, the Server Sizing section beginning on page 9), both available from the Support tab. For more Windows/SQL-specific configuration, I think Microsoft would have a good deal of information on setting up SQL 2005 servers. If…
