* What problems occur on your ASAs that are not detected by your monitoring today? # of Connections, Hardware Health (specifically SSD metrics for the X series) * Are there any customizations you've done for monitoring your ASAs, for example UNDPs? How do they work and why do you find them useful? We're using a combination…

2) If you plan on protecting both the PPE server (Primary Polling Engine) and the stacked APE (Additional Polling Engine) server then you need a total of 2 HA licenses. The HA license is product agnostic. It will protect the server. Each pool will require a dedicated VIP. 3) All you need to do is add the license via the…

Hi Chad, We had the same issue and resolved it by re-adding the Node. HTH

Hi Jacob, For those that do not wish to use the 64bit version of NTA that migrates away from Microsoft SQL and uses the Flow Storage Database, what options do they have and how long will they be able to dodge the "new" NTA platform? It has been mentioned that the 32bit variant will remain MS SQL based. Does this mean that…

Hi there, What product or group of products are they using now?

Hi there, What server hardware are you using now and which Orion modules are implemented?

Hi there, Could you tell us how many elements are you monitoring, how many pollers you have etc? Also, are you using Universal Device Pollers, receiving Traps and Syslogs? What type of hardware are you using now?
-
The element count limit per polling engine has been raised to 12K. The old limit was 10K. The overall limit (old) of 100K is for a multi tenant deployment consisting of 10 polling engines (10.000 x 10 = 100.000). The limit now is 120.000 elements in total. Once the element count is exceeded, polling intervals will…

Hi there, Never heard of this vendor. Do they have a website? I would take note of the node models then lookup the vendor's documentation for SNMP. I would also try and get the vendor's MIB for the node/node model and send it over to SolarWinds through a ticket so that it can be compiled into the MIB Database.

It's working out very well. I'm able to report on the number of monitored APs again. I'm able to alert on an AP if it goes down, again. I can now load several hundred lines in a view without it timing out. Overall performance seems the same as 10.2.X, which was slower than 10.1 if i remember correctly. Loving all the new…

Any connection type is supported as long as: 1. Firewall on both ends permit the use of Orion's polling protocols (ICMP, SNMP etc) both ways.

Hi there, Are the interface index IDs changing by any chance? Orion can only recognize an interface by its interface id. You would typically see Unknown status for interfaces if the interface no longer exists or if the interface index has changed. Check interface index persistence and or commit the following: snmp-server…

Hi Michal, Can we please get IPAM polling engines that can poll DHCP servers. We've got over a hundred domains that DON'T have a trust relationship and therefore, unable to be polled from the primary polling engine (which is in another domain). It is the greatest issue with IPAM right now... Regards, Deltona

Hi guys, Got the same issue here. Can't login to the console after the upgrade. Tried resetting and blanking the admin password in prostgres, no change. When refreshing the login page i get a greyed out login dialogue box saying Restoring Session, Please Wait. Cleared all cookies and content and tried again, no change.…

Hi there, Have a look here: CTX122337 - How to Configure SNMP in XenServer - Citrix Knowledge Center If you want to monitor Hardware Health by using SolarWinds Orion SAM then you will need to install the vendor agent on the server. Troubleshooting Hardware Health in SAM

Hello Tak, 1) Successfull with the last two major release versions of NTA. 2) Haven't scoped the flow rate so I can't give you an precise or estimate, but the number of NetFlow and sFlow sources total 167, many of which are 10Gig backbone. 3) Keeping it standard. 4) Two standalone servers both with RAID10 storage for OS…

This issue is probably caused by your logged in user that contains non-standard characters. Can you try installing the software with another user? Preferrably a LOCAL administrator on the server, unless that is what you already did?

There's something you need to be aware of when monitoring Linux nodes using net-SNMP. The problem lies in that net-snmp on linux, reports physical memory as being real memory usage combined with buffer and cache usage. On almost any other system, physical memory usage returns just that: physical memory usage. But for Linux…

Hi Andrew, Thanks for sharing this excellent report! Is there any way to include other group member types like applications, volumes etc? Regards, Deltona

fcaron Is there anything we can do to disable the setting from being reverted if or when you ever run configuration wizard? Is there a database schema that is used to compare settings, which could be modified?
-
@All, On a test deployment with a fresh database, the setting for childstatusparticipation seems to be disabled by default. It is only on existing databases, or upgraded installations, that this setting is enabled.
-
I'd like to make a correction to my last post. I said that it wasn't resolved in the 10.3 RC3 release, either, but that is not entirely correct. It seems that it is possible to disable this "feature" in 10.3 and ONLY in 10.3 to show the "correct" status of nodes in maps. I'll elaborate more on why this should be set as the…

Hi there, Currently this would be by use of an agent, where communication is defined as agent based communication.

Hi there, It will not work because Oracle is not supported. Only Microsoft SQL is supported.

Hi there, Did you ever get this to work? We've enabled https on one of our installations and now pass through authentication doesn't work anymore.

Hi Andy, The Primary Polling Engine has to be online when you connect the Additional Polling Engine (unless you are on NPM v9.5.1 or less). The Additional Polling Engines will authenticate with the Primary Polling Engine, then connect directly to the database server. From here on after, the Additional Polling engines will…

Hi there, How many instances of that IP address are there? Could you be monitoring that IP address already?
