Hi there, Meh, this makes it more complex, especially considering there are no individual AD users but only AD groups. There should be a built in fallback feature that controls this behaviour automatically without the need to intervene. Whether console admin or read only user, it should just work. I can't ask someone who…

PPE: Primary Polling Engine APE: Additional Polling Engine Additional Polling Engines connect to Primary Polling Engines via common database. When you say secondary, do you mean a second Primary polling engine (main Orion NPM)? If so, you will need to connect your Additional Polling Engine to the new/other Primary Polling…

Hi there, You will need to make the interface(s) visible using the following command: allocate-interface <ifnameX/X> visible Re-list resources after that and you should now be able to see the interface. One thing to be aware of is the possible lack of interface persistence, depending on which version IOS you're running. So…

There are a few standard SMI approved statuses and these are: OK, Degraded, Error and Stopping. You'll find these 4 on most any SMI/CIM provider. Each manufacturer can add their own statuses that would be used as an added alert description. LSI have a total of 8 statuses. EMC only have these 4 last I checked.

So, if you click on it and review the page presented, is there anything else that stands out as having an issue ie: not Green in status?

Also Palo Alto Policies don't work in Orion NPM/NCM if you're managing policies with Panorama. Bummer.

Hi there, Yes I have seen it and I am also currently using it.

Friendly reminder.

Hi Jeff, Thanks for following up. It is true that port 0 can be used maliciously, and that is why I'd like to keep tabs on it. Planning ahead for vNext-Next, we need to make sure that this is permissible, also alerting functionality should be able to trigger on this port (needs to be confirmed).

Where exactly in the details view are you using the variable?

Good stuff! Thanks for sharing

Thanks! :)

Thanks for the update. So SolarWinds will have two log management products that do more or less the same thing? Could you please touch on the differences in the webinar later on? Thanks in advance.

Hi Lester, Hope you had a great New Year's eve! Have you had a chance to upgrade and do you have anything, positive or negative to report? Regards, Deltona

Thanks, although i can't get it to work. I went to content, Clicked on Import Content, Selected the downloaded file, imported it but couldn't find it afterwards! I imported it again, this time setting permission to private so that i can find it in the by user/permission section. All there is in the private group is Report:…

Modify your existing Volume based alert or create a new one that is looking at thresholds instead of utilization.

Hi, The main problem is the front end isn't as spiffy as I'd expect. 285 executions avg /day 1 session CPU avg load is 6% Signal Waits are at 2% avg SQL 2008 R2 SP1 Enterprise

aLTeReGo any updates for this bug? It is seriously annoying when support asks you to copy paste the bottom text of the console and you can't do it. They aren't even aware of the issue.
-
Thanks for confirming.
-
Nope, doesn't work. Have you tried it yourself?
-
Sadly not. There may be an unofficial way of getting active x to work on other browser. I'd start looking for that if I couldn't get a Windows machine with Internet Explorer.

NTA is useless if the FSDB server has crashed.

Orion does not support polling duplicate IP adresses. The only way you can have several nodes in Orion with the same IP is if you poll using an Agent instead.
-
Could you confirm with the documentation of the software version running, whether it generates sFlow counters? F5, even though it creates sFlow isn't on the supported list of vendors for NTA at the moment. However, if it creates sFlow counters then you may be in luck.

That was a quick reply as time was scarce. Here are some more details. Avaya - Red: Has a traditional Call Manager Avaya - Blue (Nortel): Uses CS-1000 as a traditional Call Manager, which uses http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UNIStim from IP Phone to CM.
