Thank you kindly, do you happen to know how far up the 'feature request list' this functionality is?
-
No. 9.1 shipped last week. AD authenticaiton is something we're planning for the next major version. Excellent, this will be very useful, could you make sure there is the ability to add permissions/settings to users based on their AD security group memberships please...
-
Thank you again, I'll keep an eye open on here...
-
Excellent and thank you :-) Is there an list of requested features available to us, or is that list internal only?
-
I assume that means you have added us both to the request? Thanks for the very fast response.
-
No worries, sorry it didn't help. Please let us know what the outcome is...
-
Thank you for the info Brandon, I assume that by making this request I have been added to the list requesting this feature (if that is necessary), and I'll look forward to seeing this feature in a product near us soon :-)

I have seen this error too, the reason was that I used a domain admin account to install the software instead of the local administrator account, after re-installing using the local admin account, all worked well :) HTH CuppaT

Yes, it's definitely enabled on the Node. I'm pretty sure you don't even get the option per interface, just node by node...

Ok, The easiest way to apply the permissions is at a group level... I would create a local group, say 'SWindsUsers' and then add the AD\User1 & AD\User2, etc accounts to this local group, ensure the SWindsUsers group has Read, Read & Execute and List Folder contents on the inetpub\solarwinds folder and ensure that…

RAID 5 is not 'the' recommended RAID level, correct for performance reasons only (this has been mentioned already). But it DOES work perfectly well as long as the server is not suffering exceptionally heavy use. (believe me, I speak from experience) as I said perviously, RAID 10 is the preffered option, but far from the…

On the same topic, I would like to be able to set which users can edit which maps, each of our clients will have access to maintain their own map, but as it stands currently, this means they can get access to other maps on the system, with full R/W access. They do not have access to the maps (other clients) via the web…

Hi Roger, Is there any update on the documentation you were compiling? I'm having 'fun' converting - Where VolumeType LIKE 'Fixed Disk' AND Caption NOT LIKE '%Memory' AND Caption NOT LIKE '/%' - so it is recognised in NPM for a view!

I agree with avnishb, the ability to modify the tooltip is there if you make the object an interface (and not a switch for arguments sake). But not if you create a network link between two devices (two switches) and specify that the link is between 0/1 on switch one and 0/2 on switch two. When you then hover over the…

Thank you...

Thanks very much for the info Dave, I am using HP Procurve switches and the interfaces I am monitoring (in this specific case) are Windows 2003 R2 1GB (Intel and/or Broadcom) NIC's. I have enabled 64-bit counters for the relevant interfaces and have initiated the 2nd part of the data transfer, another 4TB, so I'll report…

Apologies, I thought I had uploaded this already! I have done it now - Cheers

Ok, when you say 'static' user, what do you mean exactly? As far as I am aware there isn't a way to link AD user accounts to user objects within SolarWinds? However, I may be wrong, haven't been using it for long (not finished readingt he manual yet). So, if you are referring to AD accounts and local (to the server)…

No probelms :)

First things first, make sure you downloaded the Server 2003 Enterprise with SP2 cd, if you didn't then try that (are you R2 or not, make sure it's the correct disk) then point the browse window to the CD drive... If that doesn't work and you are 100% sure you have the correct CD, your problems could be more serious than…

Hi, no worries :) Yes, if that is the disk configuration you have to live with, then it will still work, it will be quick for reads & fault tolerant at the same time, I would say the only worry you could have is the single disk for the OS, unless you are using a BMR backup solution for a quick turn-around on a rebuild (or…

This is a physical Windows 2003 x64 server, I have attached a screen shot, as you can see, the actual memory utilization is; Total; 56% Virtual: 49% Physical: 66% Yet the Memory used guage shows 21% in use... Any ideas?
-
Actually, I do not! I will turn this on, is it advisable to do this for all 1GB connections?
-
Hi Chris, Thanks for your response, I figured out my problem, I was requesting 'startup-config' in the device template instead of 'config'. Many thanks for your reply though...
-
Hi Casey, Thanks, that worked, I generally run under UK English and would like to return to that as soon as possible, is this bug being looked into currently, or is there a bugs section I should post in?
-
Nobody have any ideas on this at all?
-
The error you have quoted is more likely to be that you haven't enabled the users to view reports (in their orion logon, not AD). See the attached screenshot for the setting, it is under the Account Management area.

eliortizl, If you download & save the Network Atlas app onto your Win7 machine, right-click it and select to run it in compatability mode, select Vista or Windows XP/2003, Apply, etc... Run it and you will find it installs and works in Win7 RC1.

Hi, v9 has this page and it works, with no crashes. Hope this helps...

Hi jonchill, RAID 10 is the reccomendation for SQL databases, it will *work* on any form of RAID, but due to the way that RAID 10 works (a mirrored stripe set) provides greater performance & fault tolerance at the same time. Ideally you would have two RAID 10 'sets', one for the data files (.mdf's) and the other for the…
