I was looking for an update to this post, because I was not able to get this working with script below.
-
Tom, You should be able to import the xml files from the web gui using the integration module for NPM/NCM. Once you have done that you will need to go through the different rule and modify to fit you configuration parameters. If you need reference models for Cisco devices you should probably pick up a couple of the Cisco…

Version 8 Release 5 has been uploaded.

I have been caught up a little studying for the CISSP exam in May. Thanks, Eric

Jon, Thanks for asking. I am almost done with the updates. There was more to them I wanted to do on this round of updates. I am looking at having them done this weekend. Thanks,

please check your mail.mil account.

Any headway on this. I am having the same issue trying to download configurations from CatOS switches. The Username and passwords are fine but the script is not working correctly. set snmp trap <solarwinds server. <community string> port 162 owner CLI index 1 set snmp trap <Polling Engine. <community string> port 162 owner…

No worries, which reports are you running? DISA, NIST, PCI, Audits?
-
I have been in many places and everyone uses AD along with ACS for Solarwinds Administrative Groups and Responsibilities.
-
Raja Boyapati it looks like you may need a different server according to bluefunelemental posts NTA database Also look here at mharvey 's post Migrating SolarWinds to new server for more information. I am still looking.

nature of the best sometimes.

You should be able to import once you get to Manage Policy Reports. Browse to the file location. You may need to get a sys admin on there to allow you to that piece depending on how much they have your workstation locked down.
-
Jon, Thank you very much for your interest and the update on the DISA STIGs. I am going to look into making some updates here in the next few weeks. Thanks, CourtesyIT

It never hurts to open a ticket with the problem and a possible solution. At least it can get tracked.

fazl-e-azeem, I use Uptime and Downtime Report for node based reporting. I get Node Name, Down Time, Message/description, Outage in Minutes, and Uptime. Look at this one to see if it might help with your nodes request.
-
wluther, I am getting a "Query is not valid" error when I try this with SWQL or SQL. I am using NPM 12.0 L1_Region='NorthEast'

For best results, please download these reports through NCM. Navigate via Configs Tab > Compliance > Manage Policy Reports > Shared on Thwack Tab.
-
@"dbradley1" also, please do not forget to Kudos.

How To: Process for running Compliance Reports 1. Run Report on selected Nodes 2. Remediation action: manual or through script 3. Download the Configs for selected nodes 4. Rerun reports 5. Validate the delta's

Did it complete the entire script? Did it save the configuration on the switch? (running/startup)? I have done the following to clear the issue: Stop and Start some Orion Services Stop and Start all Orion Services Reboot Server (usually after doing a patch since it is a invasive procedure)

That's the thing, I am not getting any errors. It just finishes and nothing happens. I am going to try it again and this time just wait for a while to see if the system is just taking its time to working out.
-
We have installed NTA here but only since NPM 11 was released. I would before doing anything backup and store remotely all databases before upgrading. Then follow the instructions listed in the upgrade/migration guide.
-
then you might want to wait for the GA release. Your call. Rob will have a better idea of Schedule changes and releases. Best to send him an email.

Working like a champ. Thanks,

Yeah, I also figured that one out. I put the same host file on all my servers, including the database server. Also made sure during install the UAC slider was disabled. And credentials had proper access to the database.
-
Tomkins77, I broke it down for two reasons: 1. With all the rules for a functional device the report becomes unwieldy. 2. With smaller reports you are able to focus or deligate a particular technology/protocol for remediation. If you go to my profile you should see some documents that will help you out in developing your…

cbunge and mitch.cox you may need to check with your IA/Security folks. Some HIPS products and firewalling will prevent the communications between Thwack and your server.
-
Did you get my email? we can move the conversation to there it needed.
-
@"dbradley1" Well, we definitely need a path to the server(s) ip addresses. If you can ping the server from your Orion Server then you should be able to discovery via ICMP. If not, you may need to look on the server for hips products that is denying the request. If not, you may need to get with your Network folks to see if…

Not yet. I am traveling at the moment so may not be until later before I can get back on the boards.
