Denny....any updates on a hotfix for 8.5? When will it be out? BB

I think we all agree that NTA is a collector only. The fact is more and more tools need Netflow data. Cisco has a 2 destination limit and just adding a 2nd destination isn't always the right answer. If you have over 2 collection machines then your out of luck. Netflow can be a WAN hog so if you need to send it to 2 systems…

I'm not moving my server. I'd on a pretty beefy platform that is working well for us. The views are all fine except this one for some reason. BB

VoIP Monitor v1 does not collect Avaya MIBs; however, you should be able to use the Orion Custom Poller to collect the desired MIB information. In 2008, we plan to gather a subset of Avaya MIBs within VoIP Monitor. Haley...I presented the VoIP monitor to our voice folks and they like it. We do have quite an Avaya VoIP…

We are experiencing same issue. Please confirm which server(s) in Orion architecture required uninstall & reinstall of Microsoft .NET 3.5 ? NPM Main engine, NPM Add'l Pollers, NPM WebServer, SQL Server or ALL ? Your SQL server.

I have Lieberts and there is an OID for SecondsonBattery. So I just have an advanced alerts trigger when that value > 0. BB

Good catch....all of my PIXs use SNMP V1 and works well. BB

so you are saying when you perform a show run you dont see the above VLAN configs? are you using TACACS? it sounds like there may be a rights issue. We use TACACS but I'm priv level 15 with full access. The one switch shows the vlan information, the other does not.

Not sure guys....I can see the directory and was able to change the file. I changed mine from 25 to 1000 and it works great. I have over 700 Cisco nodes and they now load in 1 screen that I can see all the nodes. I does take a little longer to load the list but once it's loaded it works like we need it to. Someone did make…

My case on this is 7787. BB

Can we please add this to a feature request? It would be nice to have some global check box or something to turn off the domain name to appear or not appear. Thanks. BB

When you say pollers, are you referring to nodes that are being monitored, whereby the NPM server is collecting data from these nodes (I'm just trying to get the vernacular correct)? thank you, nicki Poller is the Orion poller that's monitoring your devices. It's the server running the Orion Poller application. The Main…

Here is a SQL script you can use. Right now it will walk through every port from 1-65535 and create a new entry if one does not already exisit. The Service Name will be "Port xyz" where xyz is the port number. To use, just copy the sql below (between the dashed lines) into SQL Studio or Database Manager and excute it…

Once I got the .net 3.0 installed everything went smoothly. So far so good. Little irrated at my VoIP issue (in the other forum) so I'll have to wait on that. BB

I believe I found it. The advance alerts have that delay sending alert until triggered event timer...mine was 10 minutes. So 1 minute for alert to check and 10 to trigger event. That gives me my 11 minutes.

I opened a ticket. Is there anyway to post the combined install and the service/web installs on the portals anyway? I have to do this every time a new release of nta or voip comes out. I have to contact support to get the installs. Is V9.2 available? It's not on the portal...what's in this? BB

I would suggest adding the list of issued support tickets by the user to the customer area on Solarwinds web site. The list could contain ticket number, dates, subject, status, assigned department/person (?!) ... and would be visible only to the customer. Best regards. Tomaz That's a great recommendation...totally agree.…

Not sure what's going on. I checked it again and now I have the 3 options for download. The 2nd link worked. Sorry for the hassle. BB

Sounds good. Any idea on my problem #1? BB

Any ideas or do I need to contact support? BB

Thanks for the link...I took a look but I don't think what was done here is applicable to my environment. They said "2. Pollers cannot be assigned to multiple routers, because the cbQoS indexes are unique (and dynamic) for each router. So, to monitor queue discards for example, you'll need to create a poller for each…

I'll open a ticket now. BB

Still beating my head on the wall with this one. Support hasn't been much help really...ran some diagnostics. Attached is the output. I see the network privileged error but I even put the Anonymous IIS account in the administrators group and no luck.

I opened a ticket. Case #77926

Orion alone can't do everything CWs can do. However Orion with NCM can. I haven't used CW in years but when I did I hated the product. Constantly crashing and not doing what it can. The biggest thing though is if you run other vendor equipment CW won't help. I just think for the $, ease of use, new functionality, etc CW is…

I will be testing this later this afternoon. BB, not sure about that one, seems a little more involved. They need an EOC or NCM ;) Perhaps...but facts are I think alot of customers would be in this situation like me. I have ideas like maybe you can define any NCM server to Orion but somehow identify which node uses which…

It's been a few months since I came back to this. I finally got to 9.5 and wondered from SW and the user community if anyone has got updates on support Cisco Nexus equipment? SW - When will support be native out of Orion w/o the need for UnDP? Everyone else - Does anyone have any UnDP to share to monitor CPU and other…

Could someone from SW respond to this so I'm 100% sure? Thanks.

Haley...what about Cisco VPN 3030s? The backup file is not binary....it's a flat text file. BB

For those of us using a split service/web install do we need to apply SP1 to both systems or just the one running the service? Thanks BB
