Okay, I'm following you. I know it doesn't help you right now, but there are some features regarding grouping application ports coming up. As an alternative, you can create an IP address group that represents the hosts on your WAN if they are in a contiguous IP range. Understood. The grouping of application ports is a must…

So a Top 10 Applications across all interfaces would have helped? Umm...not in this case. But that is a good idea...it would be nice to have a way to select different interfaces and be able to aggregate them into a logical view. Like I take all my WAN links and make 1 logical view so I can see the top 10 applications…

We are not talking about Orion receiveing traps. We want Orion to send a trap to our main NMS server. We have one that works and we can't get any others to work. BB

I opened a support ticket and here is what they said : "Bryan what third party tool are you refereing to.If it is read only access then it should not lock the database" Now I collegue of mine opened a ticket last week I think on this and got this answer : "Thank you for contacting SolarWinds. We have never tested against…

Wow....I didn't realize I opened this in 2006...yikes. I'm not sure what my case was. We have 2 Cirrus servers....one has about 600 devices the other has about 200. The 600 server inventories everything in about 3 1/2 hours. BB

Bryan, Do you know which MIB on the 65xx switch running IOS includes the card serial number information? It looks like this specific device does not support Cisco's standard MIBs for card serial number information. I did a MIB walk for a C6513 running IOS. I was able to locate the SN of a line card in the MIB: ENTITY-MIB…

Ok...thanks for the update Chris. BB

Thanks for the update. I do have one question. By any chance has the issue of the advanced alerts macros being available been addressed in this version? If not when? Almost all of our alerts are still basic because the alert variables do not work in the advance alert engine. BB

Roger...can u give me an idea on the global node status and not allowing unmanaged to make the top level yellow?
-
Andy....please tell me your kidding right? Is this a late april fools joke? Please re-read my original post. ;-) BB

I'd be interested in how you have this working as well. I've tuned my polls per seconds below the recommended values & my polling completion percentage has increased from 98.6% to 99.1% for the remote poller. I now have it running across a lightly loaded OC12 WAN link (622mbps) to the DB with 36ms latency. However I still…

Elisabeth...any update for us? My management is getting ansy. Thanks.

Mark....I was going to post a new thread but I saw this. I was just looking at my DB and noticed alot ofr free space. I thought the DB maintenance took care of that? See the attached screenshot. I do have NetFlow and it is the biggest table, NetFlowSummary3, at 2.9GB. BB

As much as I love SW and their products I now know not to upgrade to a new version for at least a month after its been release because of issues like these. I have had the same headaches before. I know its hard because the new versions have alot of cool stuff in them but not worth these sorts of issues. But I do appreciate…

In my testing UDT sees the IPs and MAcs of the pc and Cisco IP phone correctly, however the DNS resolution of the IPs only works for the PC, not the phone. I opened a case for this.

It was a cookie issue...not sure why it wasn't enabled for a local site. It appears to be ok now.

I have also nopticed device CPU and volume graphs look fine after 6 days. It's just interface statistics. Very weird. BB

Hate to keep beating this topic to death....but does anyone know if this wget application works with a proxy server? Since weather.com is constantly changing the IP address of their server are are having a hard time with FW rules keeping up. Instead of opening the FW to everything we were asked to get this to work via a…

I posted this back in June. This is the same thing along with CPU utilization :

I like lean-and-green the best. I found it easier to tell if a new post was made, etc. I'm using the thwack-light and I'll get used to it. I'm not sure why there is a big deal about having themes like this on the site. One thing I wish they did change is have different views available that you can make your own. Like on…

I'm still reviewing the data....in the meantime can you answer : "I guess my question is in NTA do I have to check the LAN interfaces as well to see all the data going to/from on the WAN interface?" Or can I just check the interfaces I want to report on? BB

And another... "no configs to compare" ? I never saw this before in 3.5.1. Does this mean if I want to view changes over the last 2days, what if no changes were made for the last week? How does it compare the configs to know to pull the config down? There isn't an option to compare to the last downloaded configuration -…

Too complicated....SW...please put this in as a feature request. TY.

I'm seeing sort of the same issue when I'm in the Admin screen and I click on Database details. It thinks about it for a bit then errors out : System.Web.HttpException: Request timed out. BB

From the EOC server (terminal server into it) I can click on the thwack link to get there and the tree nodes work too. I don't see a "resource" for recent thwack posts on EOC...I know they are in the individual Orions servers.

I know one issue I had was that I had icons under icons. And when one went unknown the map turned yello but everything looked green. Move the icons around to see if something is uncovered. BB

Jay, Thanks for the info. When I look at the tables it says that 52.4GB is used and that NetFlowSummary2 table is using 46.3 GB of it. My TrapVarbinds table is only 142MB. Do yo suggest truncating both tables? The total space used is 120GB, Data Space used is 52.4GB, Index space used is 10.4GB. After the truncation,…

Per Josh back in Janurary... "The Additional Components like the Account Manager are still being updated for v8 and aren't currently available for download." In particular I'm looking for Account Manager add-on for V8. BB

Ok..I opened Case # 69507 for this. I'll send in the diag shortly. BB

It's pretty simple actually. We have 2 Cisco 6506 switches with the Firewall Services Module in them. The FWSM is in routed mode so all servers on the these 2 switches route thru the FWSM as their default gateway. We have about 15 different vlans that are protected by this Firewall pair (in active/standby). The ARP table…
