Any more issues with this? I have 4 remote pollers I need to upgrade. I usually have to run these patches twice, etc. BB
-
Ok...I can't find any documentation on the SW site about this. BB

We have a smaller implementation with about 6200 elements. We have 4 remote pollers and 1 NPM server. 2 of the 4 pollers are in the same data center as the NPM abd DB server. The other 2 pollers are in our backup datacenter a 1000 miles away. The only issue we see is the 2 pollers not local load a little slower and…

quote:Originally posted by BK Hey Brian, Be patient. If you have a large Syslog table. Adding the FirstIP column may take a couple of hours. Yes hours. Not much that can be done around it, it is just a big SQL I/O opperation that only has to be done once. The Update to 7.8 will help this in the future. Earlier version of…

I'm not getting bast the configuration wizard and "Adding column FirstlPln Message to Table Syslog". Anyone else? BB

The only problem I'm aware of is the 8-bit video limition with Win2k servers. This might not be an issue with the Win2k3 Server. Can someone confirm this on a Win2K3 server?

Ok..I took the .jpg and saved it as .gif and did what you said but it still shows up as a grey box. Frustrating...

All the files in the Maps\Background directory are .jpg, not .gif. So how's that suppose to work?
-
Why won't the basic alert suffice? The action items are the same. BB

I'm not sure this is required for eveyone but we got it to work. Basically the users need the policy settings of "access this computer from the network". I was then able to move the non-admin users from the administrators group into the users group. The users group has that policy so it's now working and I don't need to…

I tried this again today : http://orion and http://orion.domain.com both prompts me for credentials. Even with typing in the right credentials I still can't be authenticated. Only way to make this work is add the user as a local admin on the server. I'm going to contact Solarwinds again today.

I'm having a similar issue per say. I have the pass-thru configured as well. I have accounts set up domain/username. Where domain is the domain we log into every day. The problem I have is even with the above set you still get prompted for username and password. Also even if you put int he correct credintials you still…

quote:Originally posted by JMP We are going to eval the NetQos Report Analyzer, but besides this product what else has anyone been testing out to do this type of reporting? JMP...there really isn't much out int he Netflow collection space really. Even Cisco is using NetQoS' product. BB

Thanks for the info charpham. I would think that development on this would be beneficial to both sides. NetQoS is one of the leaders in the Netflow space...even Cisco uses their product. I think this would be a big help to Solarwinds to get their product out to people that may no even know about them.
-
Guru...I too have finished an eval and your right...its an eye-opener. It's a good product and hopefully they will integrate nicely. B
-
My understanding that one can be called from the other. meaning if your in orion looking at a utilization there will be a link of some sort to NetQoS. The same would go for when you log into NetQoS you will see a link to go to Orion.
-
We have brought in NetQoS and have been running a demo for about a week now. It is a very powerful tool to say the least. NetQoS is suppose to give us a demo of the integration in the near future.
-
We are looking to purchase the Report Analyzer product to report on NetFlow data. What sort of integration are they planning on doing??
-
Have you sent an email to their support? BB
-
Karen...I feel your pain trust me. I'm the lead of 10 network engineers and we rotate oncall every week. I do exactly what you said is "not efficient". I go in each Monday and up date 3 alerts to change the email address of the oncall engineer's cell phone. We do have an internal system that has the oncall rotations and…

I changed this back to node view and this morning report had all the devices on them that I expected. Is this a bug or the normal operation? BB
-
I see the same issue. BB

It's always been, at least to me, very difficult to tell if what's on the web site is newer then what I'm running. That is just a pet peeve of mine. BB
-
This is what I was thinking too but wanted to make sure. If this is indeed true then Orion should ignore those. BB

I rebuilt our server and its running fine now. The only difference was I added the route table add-on with the last install. I haven't added that just yet. BB

Rich...you have to add the custom poller to your node view. So go in the Admin Page -> Manage Views. What I have done is create a new View for a node that has a custom poller. Once your in the view you can go under Node Gauge or Node Chart and select custom poller. BB
