The hardware health for network devices is going to wet my bosses pants.

A year on the voting block, 41 up votes. Any chance we can get this in?
-
Any thoughts on when this upgrade may be released? I'm very egar to roll this out.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but shouldn't traditional security models always be outdated? It seems like you can never put a "done" stamp on security, it has to constantly grow and change or it ceases to be security. I think the real problem is getting the people who control the purse strings to understand that.

My coworker is color blind. "Hey man that data closet just went yellow" "It did?"
-
Security out the window. I am seeing companies having a harder and harder time understanding what their users are doing with their data. As things become cloud and hybrid cloud, so do the tools and methods the users who manipulate the data do. If you have a developer working with sensitive company data do you know where he…

What is the status of this? 212 upvotes now and its starting to become and issue for me like many other people.

I have found that having data is only as good as it can be organized otherwise it can bury the person using it and become more of a problem then it is meant to be. (sorry but this seemed like it belonged here) http://cdn.themetapicture.com/media/funny-blond-girl-Lannister-Game-of-Thrones.jpg

As a former systems engineer and currently a network engineer I am constantly surprised how development teams can get downtime on production applications for upgrades but infrastructure teams seldomly can get downtimes for patches.
-
I also think this is a very good idea, our entire development team went through an overhaul and moved heavily in this direction. Being able to easily monitor for them, which they have requested, would be great.

I just watched the season finale of Fringe, and dispute how i feel the direction of the show went i felt a little sad when the credits rolled and commercials took over. I don't watch a lot, and when I do its always recorded because of time/life/career/drunken state, but the doctor of WHO is always high on my list even if…

So just installed it, love it, however I noticed it doesn't pull temp for the several of the c3560 models. Is there a minimum hardware model or Cisco IOS version required for this? Most of my 3560's are 12.2.35 and I can run a 'sh env temp' on them to get an OK. Are you guys using 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.3 OID to pull…

Can't wait, I am losing sleep over credential management. This one alone is causing me major pains.

Is there any chance "FB86661" will be in this release?

Ive never struggled with start menus over the years, they are generally very customizable, so for me windows doesn't really change that much. So as such my only major complain with 8 was that Microsoft removed the 'manage wireless networks' app. Other than that it was windows 7 with a bigger start menu. Now 10 is windows 7…

id love to just be able to break up the workload amongst my polling engines, that would be my primary use case. I have, what I think is, a lot of VLAN and it seems like that IPAM is never not scanning a subnet.

Its 2015, and I know people who measure web site performance with a stop watch, no joke. So sad.

daddy wants! I'm still mourning the loss of network general, Id love to see this product in my environment.

#6 dont panic, stay calm, if you panic during a problem you will make it worse and you will also likely transfer that panic to your customer.
-
Great idea, if this was available I would use it.

See you thursday!

Right... but then you still have a gauge that is red on that particular node, and its going to stay red till you change your threshold globally. *problem* Its a great piece of work by adatole but its alert centric. It puts you in a place where you have to do a lot of custom work while at the same time basically blowing…

If i print one out and superglue it to my boss will that count?

Don't forget the companies that are in denial over what mid to senior level engineers can make, those companies are stuck with the level 1 mold as you go model. Its not always a choice of which way you should go.
-
I am curious, has anyone used the Engineering Toolset against a Cisco 3650 switch yet? Those are the newer ones that come in all black and the SFP's are hard mounted rather than a module like the 3560X/3750X.

The one we use around here the most "Technical Solutions.... for managerial problems".

Ran into this today on r/Networking, someone there said it should be read and re-read every year. After reading it, and having conversations about IT management I am inclined to agree. http://www.computerworld.com/article/2527153/it-management/opinion--the-unspoken-truth-about-managing-geeks.html

You sure about that? I have reports from 2 of my server admins that Anyconnect 4.1 is working.

No mention of edge? No opinion?
