I have four Operations on two different routers that are identical. The routers reside in two different datacenters. Both of the routers and their 4 operations are watching our DNS servers. I am alerting on these if the DNS operation fails.
Just a while ago, someone put a new operation in to another router in a remote location that has one of the Operation Numbers that the original 2 routers has.
I have an Advanced Alert for each of the Operations from the 2 original routers. The alerts trigger as follows:
when all apply:
Node status is not equal to down -> when all apply -> Operations status is equal to down and Operation number is 400.
How do I descriminate between the routers that I want for DNS and the remote router with the same Operations number?
What do I use to differrentiate the remote from the two routers that a more important?
Advanced alerts is not clear on what it is looking for. Does Node name mean the node we are destined for or the node that is conducting the operations?
thanks
