User name already exists

Good day everyone,

I'm trying to add an Individual account but it says the Username is already exist, I've checked username under Individual, Windows Groups and SAML Groups but I can't find it also checked the Database Manager / Account and didn't see it there. Is there a way to locate it to delete and re add? Thanks

Having a similar issue on 2024.4 adding a AD Group. Ticket open. It sounds like you should open one as well. If you can't find the user in the GUI or in the DB then is sounds like a problem support will need to look at.

Hello @junerenab Please check if there is another account with the same name in the SAML groups, even if it is not used in SolarWinds.

I have an environment with SAML integration and there is a user called admin, which triggered some issues with SolarWinds's local admin account. This SAML admin account was not used in SolarWinds.

I have reported that to Support, but the case was ignored.

We don't have any group or user under SAML Group I also checked on the Database Manager / Account and the username wasn't there either.

On my end I'm trying to add a local account or Solarwinds Individual Account but yeah I will open a support ticket to them. Thanks

If the individual account has previously been a member of an AD group but has since been moved out of the group, then the individual account is still present in the database and needs to be deleted manually. You will not be able to add that account as an individual account unless it is deleted first. Take a backup of your database before proceeding. Do note that by deleting this account, some things such as scheduled NCM jobs may break and stop working. Use the Database Manager tool found in the Start menu of the primary SolarWinds server to confirm if the account is present, then delete it: Add Orion the server, expand the NetPerfMon or SolarWindsOrion database, right click the Accounts table, select Query table, click Enable table editing followed by Execute query. You should see all the accounts created or have previously logged on. Identify the problematic account,right click the row then click Delete selected rows. You should now be able to create the individual account.

Check for Hidden or Inactive Accounts, Some systems may store accounts in a disabled or hidden state. Look for filters in your user management system that might be hiding inactive or disabled accounts.
