Application Status is "Up" while Node Status is Down"

Question

I am polling a Solaris server via SNMPv2 from SolarWinds. The application status is "up", while the Node Status is showing "down".

This is confusing because if the node is down, shouldn't the application status also be down? Is there an issue with how the Node Status is being polled, and if so - how could I check on that.

Any insight is appreciated - thanks in advance!

Hi Kelly - in my situation, I found that I had initially imported these as ICMP and had to to set the “status and response time” to SNMP since we submitted the FCR to open SNMP specific ports. I went ahead and changed my hosts from ICMP to SNMP and now everything is showing as "Up".
