We currently have SAM/NPM/WPM/NTA; is there any way to obtain any EMC VNX statistics with these products (don't have budget at the moment for Storage Manager)?

No, Orion cannot acquire from SMI-S data sources. The data from the VNX is not available via SNMP. If you were a brave soul, you could try to write a command line tool against naviseccli, but that is likely to be a very painful and unrewarding experience.
only with STM you can monitor VNX very well , with awesome report
