Orion MSMQ vs RabbitMQ

Has the SolarWinds Orion suite dropped MSMQ for its message queuing in favor of RabbitMQ? I first noticed RabbitMQ after the SAM 6.2.4 / NPM 12 / Orion 2016 upgrade. Does anyone know why this decision was made? Were there too many problems with MSMQ? Is RabbitMQ superior?

muckman, in the current shipping version MSMQ still works if the necessary ports for RabbitMQ aren't open. So, MSMQ hasn't been dropped. There aren't any problems with MSMQ as such but RabbitMQ allows us to make some architectural changes which would not be possible with just MSMQ.

Are those port changes documented somewhere? I haven't seen it but haven't looked too far either..

On another note, we want to be sure folks know about these ports you may see for RabbitMQ: Ports 4369, 25672, and 5672 are opened by default by RabbitMQ. These ports can be blocked by the firewall. 5671 is the important one for messaging.
