We have numerous servers in our organization that have departments that share responsibilities for the servers. An applications group maintains the applications and a server / storage team that maintains the OS and storage. Could somebody provide me an example of how they monitor windows services in this type of environment. Being the server team I don't want to be notified if some services related to the application are down. I want those to go to the application owner. There may be some services on the server that we are responsible for and would like to get notifications for. I don't see that you can assign custom properties to services or application templates. How do you go about monitoring a server that is shared ensuring that the application team gets notifications for the windows services they are responsible for on the machine while the server team gets notifications for the windows services they are responsible for on that same machine?
