Reboot alert has a event but no alert email triggered

I have placed one alert on which reboot has been captured on events but no email alert is triggered for that ...as it is a event based alert I should get a email alert as soon the event received...

What are the key points to get it checked

So that critical alerts would be triggered on time

Bbased on that incident would been created

I would verify a couple of things first.

1. That there is an email action assigned to the alert and that the action is turned on

Hi Christopher,

I checked in database there is no alert was generated,

But I found an event generated for this.

So how can I find the issue happened on this scenario. As the moment it changes the boot event generated nd I should be getting email,

But I didn't.

Possibly no such down in monitoring at that time.

Is there any possible way to check it .

Your help would b much appreciated.

the event that u are referring is something which Solarwinds generates for most of the conditions like device down, port down etc.

Have you created an alert and created an email action?

If you have already created then is there any wait time that you have kept before the alert triggers?

And did u validate if your SMTP server is accessible via port 25 from your Solarwinds server?

pratikmehta003 is correct you should start validating everything from the bottom up and ensure that your environment is able to send emails. If there is no alert being found in the database as triggered but there are events in the events table then it points to something being misconfigured in your alert logic. I would double check your alerts logic. Also because the reboot alert usually relies on the "last boot time" value I would start to cross-reference that with what you see on your systems.
