Hi All,
Can someone point me in the right direction to be able to monitor if an external webpage is up or down ?
I've scrolled through the pages and cant seem to find the right info
thanks
Hans
There's a basic HTTP monitor as default in SAM if you make a new template
WPM and Pingdom and such are very detailed versions
For stuff inbetween there's powershell options using Invoke Webrequest, probably a few options around thwack
Hi adam.beedell,
I have tried to setup the basic HTTP monitor but can not seem to get it to work no matter where I am pointing to, I tried a basic setup to check on Google however this comes back as down ?
I have checked and the sever I am testing against has access but the SAM fails
thanks for any info
Hi hansons,
Testing google is successful from my end at the mo, so i cant replicate the fault, but can confirm it works somewhere
I expect the problem is proxy based, it usually is in my experience. Personally i've got an extra proxy set up to avoid other communication issues, not sure if that's helping.
Does your license manager connect to the web properly?
(Try the HTTPS one too if you havnt already, same concept but i should have said that in my original post)
I think you were on to something with the proxy settings , I now appear to be getting a response on the test to google however this is showing as "Test successful with "Critical" status on Server "
any ideas why its coming back as down now that it can get through ?
