SNMP Trap Monitoring

Is there a way to configure an alert for SNMP traps? If there is, am I able to set the alert to look for specific output values/characters within the trap?

Yes. This is configured through the SNMP Trap Receiver application located under [Start -> SolarWinds Orion -> Trap Viewer]

Are there any plans to incorporate this into the normal method of creating alerts from the web interface?

That would be great. Perhaps the same for syslogs.

Thank you for sending me to that thread. Although, it does seem a bit discouraging because that feature vote is over 2.5 years old. It seems like it's one of those great idea proposals that will see no traction.

A Thwack user commented on the thread and gave this link: I think being able to manage trap/syslog alerts within the web console would heal some frustration within the community.

I voted yes for both idea proposals
