Access Limitiations setup

Question

Hi,

I want to set up some access limitations and am wondering if anyone else has already got a similar setup.

As the infrastructure team we run the monitoring and the underlying infrastructure. But then we have separate teams that look after their own applications on top of the servers we provide.

From an infrastructure point of view we want to see how the systems are performing but not the applications on top like IIS etc.

But to throw a spanner in there we have other servers which we run like exchange which we also need to monitor IIS.

So in summary I want to be able to view node status for all servers but only view application status for some.

Looking at the limitation setups it does not appear to be something easily achieved without heavy management.

Has anyone done something similar that could point me in the right direction?

Thanks for the reply,

I think what would be useful is if the account limitations had an 'AND' type statement instead of just select properties.

I'm going to see what  I can do with the account limitation builder to see if there is anything I can do there before going down the custom view route

You're correct. The minute you give someone access to a Node, I think that opens up all related templates.

You could create custom logins and then assign them a specific customized view but not without 'heavy management' as you inferred.
