Network Performance Monitor vs BGP routers
FormerMember
Hi:
An occurrence with the SolarWinds management station adversely affecting an Internet BGP router following the scheduled upgrade of the engine processor module. The processor upgrade was completed on 8/20 at 00:15 edt. Around 22:00, the processor resources started climbing and subsequently impacted Internet based connectivity into the Monday business day. We disabled the solarwinds server from SNMP monitoring the internet router on Monday at 13:55 edt. Immediately following that, the router CPU level dropped to an acceptable level as well as the network latency for Google returned to a normal baseline.
Just wondering if anyone out here has an idea as to why all of a sudden this would occur? It had been monitoring the routers fine until the processor upgrade.
Solarwinds Guru's your help is needed.
Thanks
Jeff

Hi Jeff, more information is required to even begin to hazard a guess as to the cause.
What make & model of router? What Software version before & after the upgrade.
I suggest opening a support ticket with the router manufacturer/vendor.

Gave the information to CISCO to let them hash it out.
Thanks
