UDP search table for data

Greetings,

I am new to the community and have a question on UDP. Is there a way to search a udp table for an entry and return a result based on if that entry is in the table or not? I have been searching the forum for something like this and have not found anything so thought I would post the question. If I have missed it in my searching please point me in the right direction.

Bremman,

You would have to setup pollers on each MIB in the table. If the value you are looking for is a mapped value that returns on one of the MIBs then, yes you can alert if the MIB and the specific Row (which would be the index) matches a specific value.

Thank you for the response Matthew! Not sure if that will quite do what I am looking to do, I think I did not word my question quite right. If there is a table that I am polling and it has a value in it, I want to get an alert if that value dissappears from the table. If i set the alert to " field value is not equal to value x" I get alerted on everything that is still in the table. So I want to monitor a table for values and get alerted if specific values are no longer in that table.

That would only work if you do alerts on the specific RowID or ID's of that table. You'd have to basically set up an alert for each row and the value you want to monitor if it would be on any row. Otherwise you just specify the RowID of the row in the table that it would be on and that should get you the alert.

Matthew, I have something very similar, but I think your answer is the one I need. I have a Table with my OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.2682.1.2.2.1.5 and the Row I need to look at is ROWID 99.1.9 how can I make a poller just for that row?

The 99.1.9 should basically translate to being the end of the OID that returns the value you are looking for. What you would want to do is create a poller using the entire OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.2682.1.2.2.1.5.99.1.9, expand the Advanced Options and use the GET type, rather than the GET Next or Get Table. This will tell the UnDP to just get that specific value and return the result.

Oh wow I was wondering how that worked. Thanks for that info! One last thing my Raw Valve is ........ 63.6956 it is from a temp sensor in our datacenter. I was wondering if I could make this valve a Number valve or just show the dots in front of it.
