Advance Alert possible issue with "Reset" alerts

Question

Currently we are running NPM ver 8.0.2. I had configured advance alerts for device up/down status. The issue that we are noticing that lot of the times the "Reset" alert is generated for device being up, even though there was no "trigger" alerts for device being down generated earlier. Could someone explain this behavior?  Regards,  Kashan Saeed

Yes, I agree - you should upgrade to 8.1-

this release addressed many Advanced Alerting issues

* v 8. 1 Fixes in advanced alerts: * Time of Day will now enable and suppress alerts       appropriately.
* From/To fields in email actions behave as expected.
* Sending data to zip files now succeeds in all       cases.
* Alerts now trigger reliably, regardless of the       naming convention used for nodes and interfaces.
* Auto-refresh no longer collapses alert groups.
* No longer possible to switch from one alert type to       another (for example, changing Node to Volume) leaving an inappropriate       trigger condition.
* Pressing Enter in text boxes is no longer treated       as clicking OK.
* Pressing Enter while editing a trigger condition no       longer closes the wizard.

Upgrade!, 8.1 finally fix my advanced alert problem.

your post is not showing so in the Edit Profile page change the Content Editor to 'Plain Text" until this rendering issue can be fixed- thanks
