Reports / Custom Properties

Question

I just finished installing V8 on my new production Orion server and just hit a fairly major snag.  I went to check on my reports and none of my custom reports I created that used my custom node properties are working right.

All the select fields I had that used custom node properties are gone, and if I try to re-add them, none of my custom properties are showing up as options.

Anyone have any ideas?

Nevermind...I just answered my own issue, but I'll leave this post instead of deleting it.

I went into my custom property editor and added a new bogus property.  I went back into the report writer and now everything is working...all my custom properties are showing up as expected.  I went back into custom property editor, nuked the bogus property I had created and everything still looks cool.

So my guess is some table in the database somewhere that wasn't happy until I had updated it in the new version.

That’s the dreaded update report schema...  After a few upgrades it becomes second nature...

From the Orion Server
Open the Custom Property Editor
Right click on the grey area after Help
Select Customize…
On the Customize screen select Commands
Scroll down to Update Report Schemas
Left click and drag Update Report Schemas to the grey area after Help
Press the lightning bolt button

You should get a pop-up that says "Custom Properties have been added to all Report Schemas"
